@EverythingZen14 no they use only their voice. this is modern choral written in Georgia by modern composers.

Do I hear some Tuvan style overtone singing in there??? I've never heard a choir do anything like this ever... I liked some parts of this, and didn't care for other parts, but it was all very interesting.

+Gökçe Altay "Archaica I" by Ioseb Kechakmadze. Gori Women's Choir seems to have videos from several performances up, including a very psychedelic-looking music video. This composer is new to me, and doesn't seem to be much known outside of Georgia. He's more or less a contemporary composer, having passed away only in 2013.

+iamcuriousblue Thank you very much for the info. I am checking the other videos as well. Is there any possibility to obtain the score of "Archaica I" or any other composition by him? Sorry to hear that he's passed away and not known outside of Georgia. Very impressive work indeed.

@@iamcuriousblue oh it's Ketchakhmadze? This would be the second work I've ever heard of his. I absolutely love the St. Petersburg Chamber Choir's rendition of his Chorale. One of my favorite, if not my favorite, choral pieces of all time. Sad to hear that he passed away

I really appreciate his use of hands... He can make a room full of women scream their heads off. Wish my wife was that easy...
