Gorilla⭐️ Gentaro is chased and injured by an angry Momotaro.【Momotaro family】

This video was shot on September 29, 2023.
Gentaro hasn't done anything bad to Genki lately, but on this day he pulled Genki several times and pushed her down.
At first, Momotaro ignored it.
But Gentaro was so persistent that Momotaro finally got angry.
Gentaro was chased by an angry Momotaro and seems to have slightly injured his hands and knees.
Momotaro didn't seriously attack Gentaro, so don't worry, his injuries aren't too bad.

⭐️Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
Born in Ueno Zoo on July 3, 2000.
His father is Biju and his mother is Momoko.
His father died before he was born and he grew up never knowing his father.
He came to Kyoto City Zoo in 2010 and is now a father of two sons.
⭐️Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Born on June 24, 1986 at the Kyoto City Zoo.
Her father is Mack and her mother is Hiromi.
When she was 10 years old, she went to Ueno Zoo for breeding purposes.
But she had a bad relationship with another female gorilla, and she injured her fingers and toes with her self-mutilation and lost a lot of weight.
When she returned to her hometown of Kyoto City Zoo, she was fine, and she lived with various male gorillas.
Then she met Momotaro and she gave birth to two lovely sons whom she lovingly raised.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at the Kyoto City zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
He is very close with his younger brother Kintaro and they play together almost every day.
⭐️Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at Kyoto City Zoo on Dec.19,2018.
He has big bright eyes and long eyebrows.
He is growing fine ,being loved by his parents and brother.

I don't know which was more terrifying...powerhouse Momotaro chasing after Gentaro full speed and jumping over obstacles or his slow stalking, glaring. 🫣 Momo is tolerant and patient with Gent but there is a limit, especially if he messes too much with mom or little bro. I know he can't help it, but I hope Gentaro calms down a bit. ❤🦍

Unfortunately, Gentaro is a blackback...and he's not going to calm down. It's a part of the growing process. The zoo failed Gentaro. I hope they move him soon and come up with a plan for when Kintaro becomes a blackback.

A silverback is biologically programmed to protect his troop, his wives and young children. I think we may be underestimating the danger Gentaro and Momotaro are being put in by being forced to live in close quarters. I’m sure everything will be fine…but Genki’s mother died because zookeepers made the mistake of thinking they could force animals to live against their nature.

Gentaro has been squeaking for that tune-up for quite awhile now, and Papa Momo the mechanic had to chase him down and give it to him. Good parenting that Gentaro will learn from when he becomes the leader of his future troop.

Genki's eye still looks really bad. She's getting older and health may not resilient as it once was. When she passes, Momo, Gentaro, and Kintaro will essentially be their own bachelor's troop. I hope she goes peacefully and not like her mother (who was killed by a young silverback)

Momotaro loses his temper & attacks Gentaro again. Then Momotaro goes to the zookeepers where he is comforted. Momotaro doesn't want to be alone & he doesn't want to play with his boys or his wife. Maybe this space is getting too small for them.

This space has always been too small for the 4 of them. You notice all of that running Momo and Gentaro was doing and they were only running in a circle and never out of sight. That small space is horrendous. Basically they are on top of each other with soon to be TWO silverbacks

Gentaro is constantly challenging Momotaro. He is coming into his adulthood, and I think there will be vying for power. I find Momotaro to be a pretty good father. Just don't mess with his food.

I sort of feel the same, but like others said, Gentaro has been testing Momo a lot lately. What I wonder is why Gentaro does this. I have only been following the gorilla families since very recently, but I have heard others say that Momo always has heen strict with Gentaro. Maybe this is a reason why Gentaro is so rebellious. It's a big contrast with Shabani and Kyomasa who are still playing a lot and Kyomasa is almost the same age as Gentaro. Even Kintaro doesn't want to play with Momo and we know how much Kintaro loves to play with his brother. When Momo invites him to play he is reluctant at best and more often than not just leaves. Somehow Momo is perceived as unfriendly or dangerous by Kintaro and Gentaro
