Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)　
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.

She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAC.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

Happy New Year 2024 but in Japan, a big quake and mega tsunami hit around the Japan sea. The shaking was expanded to Kyoto or Tokyo or other prefectures. For a while, after-quakes will cause. I love hearing about this special gorilla family’s history. They have all had significantly formative events in their lives, from Momotaro’s hatred of men in white hard hats, Gentaro’s separation from his mother for ten months, to Genki’s trials. Even after she met Momotaro, her firstborn was taken from her, which must have been heartbreaking for her, only seeing Gentaro through the bars of a cage. Thank goodness she was able to keep Kintaro with her! Kintaro is the only one in the family who has lived a happy and carefree life-and it shows! Thank you for bringing us this family story.❤

I went to the Kyoto City Zoo website and saw Hiromi. Genki definitely gets her beauty from her Mother. Hiromi and Genki have pretty eyes. I'm thankful Genki took after her Mother. I read where Hiromi was in an altercation with Gon and she died from multiple severe injuries, is there more information about this on the website or did they ever elaborate on it more. Hiromi was a very calm but had a strong alpha female presence about her, i think she could sense right away that her daughter wasn’t well. Genki was blessed to have such a strong and wise mother and I do believe it saved Genki’s life having her strong and sensitive Momma back by her side accepting Genki back without question. I believe the keeper’s word and feel the same that Hiromi is still watching over Genki because Hiromi was a very strong presence as a female gorilla.

Hiromi was instrumental in Genki's survival and well-being. Hiromi was a calm and motherly gorilla who came to Kyoto Zoo in 1976 and had several offspring. After Genki returned to Kyoto Zoo from Ueno Zoo due to illness and injuries, she initially lived alone but continued self-injurious behavior. Introducing her to Hiromi helped Genki recover her health. Hiromi's nurturing nature significantly contributed to Genki's improvement.
