This video is a few days old but I think the boys were playing and Genki thought it was getting rough so she tapped Gentaro. Then Momo got involved. That’s why you see Kintaro underneath Momo as their play was interrupted.

ゴリラの世界と人間の世界の違いは理解しているものの、ゲンタロウの大きな鳴き声を聞いた時は、可哀想で胸が締め付けられる思いでした。 何度もゲンキがモモタロウへ手を伸ばして仲裁して、騒ぎは終わりましたが、 ゲンタロウが悲しそうな顔して指しゃぶりをしているのが、とても切ない。 ゲンキは、責任を持ってモモタロウを落ち着かせ、 ゲンタロウをフォローすることの出来る立派な母親です。

It's amazing how their family bond and strong socializing keeps the huge Momotaro in check when Genki reminds him to calm down and back off.

That's a really interesting dynamic that I see frequently in gorilla troupes, both captive and wild. Whenever the silverback scolds a member of the group the rest of the group almost always jumps in and scolds the silverback. It usually ends up with the silverback running away and the rest of the group chasing him. I've even seen incidents where the smallest member of the group leads the charge against the silverback and even then the big guy runs away. I think you were right on about keeping the big guy in check, I actually believe that this sort of behavior is how all gorilla families keep the lead silverback in check.

He’s not a man gorilla yet. He needs time to grow before he can lead his own family. Gentaro needs at least a couple more years there to mature both physically, and mentally. Kintaro and Genki will both be beside themselves once he’s gone.

@@kimgraham9671 Kintaro is just playing and Gentaro bites at him too, they learned that from their Daddy. It’s apparent Gentaro loved playing with him and he aggressively pulls him in to play, so I don’t think there’s any harm in it for them. The only time that Kintaro runs to Dad is if they get going and he does get a little rougher with him and that’s easy to do when Gentaro is WAY bigger than Kintaro. I don’t think you can really blame either sibling for wanting to play with each other, they love and care for each other and that’s apparent. Momo just needs to back up with it, but maybe Genki getting him will help him do that.

Recent Momotaro is more protective of Kintaro, so he thought Kintaro got attacked by Gentaro's rough playful behavior. He scolded an elder son very hard. Genki calmed down Momotaro and became safe. I'm relieved Genki protected Gentaro at once. She has been a tender mama for her elder son 🌼🌼🌺

ゲンタロウの指しゃぶりは、人間の子供と同じで沢山の感情を落ち着かせるためなのでしょうね。 今はまだ、キンタロウが幼く両親はキンタロウを中心になる事も多いけど、ゲンタロウが幼い時はゲンキを独り占めして😊母ちゃん大好きっ子になりましたよね。抱っこも沢山してもらい、モモタロウ の不器用な突っ込み（笑）からも守ってもらってたように見えました。 キンタロウも、弟妹が出来たらゲンタロウと同じく寂しく思う経験をするでしょう。 ゲンタロウとキンタロウは赤ちゃん時代の環境に違いがありますよね。それでも、2人とも両親や飼育員さんから沢山の愛情で育てられた事は確かなので、立派なシルバーバックになって家族をもてば良い夫&パパになると信じてます☺️。

That comes from not getting enough maternal connection from his mom Ginka at a certain point as a baby 🤗🙄😒😔😔 he still wants that comfort . 1:48 gorillas are amazing. Here we have the 2 brothers on an 8 inch wide beam, probably 15 feet off the ground and only a couple of ropes to hold onto, and they're playing without a care in the world. That beam is pretty much the same width as a balance beam used in gymnastics yet they're totally unafraid.

人間社会と同じですよね～ 群れは本当に大切ですね。 人間も親が育児放棄したり、親が亡くなってしまっても、群れがあれば、代理母が出てきたり、周りの大人が育てたりできました。これまでは。今は、核家族化したのと、近所でのコミュニティがなくなり、社会で子供を育てることが出来なくなりましたよね。 ゲンタロウはラッキーでした！ モモタロウも実はかなり大変な経験していますよ。モモタロウは父親と会ったことがない、オスゴリラと一緒に生活したことが全くない。なので、オスゴリラとしてどう生活すればいいのか分からない。 最近は、ゲンキや子供達のおかげで成長してきた。 キンタロウは、かなり恵まれていますよね。 何か問題あれど、ゲンキやゲンタロウに守ってもらえますから。 はい、ゲンタロウはめちゃくちゃ良い父親になるでしょうね。

Not gonna lie, it looked a lot worse from the other camera view I saw the other day. This makes it look a little better as the other one looked like Momotaro was trying to take a chunk out of Gentaro’s back/leg but obviously here that wasn’t the case 😅 Poor Genki going both #1 & #2 during the incident is heartbreaking. Todos na casa, sinal que o tempo está frio. Kintaro brinca com miss Hina e Genki observa e quando retira e Kintaro acompanha a mãe. Se estabelece um conflito , Momotaro ataca Gentaro e Genki bate do lado de Momotaro pra ele parar, ele parece entender e obedece Genki que examina Gentaro pra ver se não estar ferido, mesmo adulto Genki sempre se preocupa com Gentaro. Não sei o que causou o conflito mas estavam todos muito agitados e Momotaro zangado.

Someone said that she reached up to Gentaro and touched him, she thought they were being too rough and Momo came to assist. Genki has been doing well with Gentaro to help calm him down, if she’s let to do it. They were just playing.

I wish I could just hug, tickle and comfort Gentaro as he is sucking on his little finger. This was from another video where Kintaro was being aggressive towards Gentaro and Gentaro was trying to run away from Kintaro, Genki was upset & Dad came in and went after Gentaro and hit him as he screamed and cried. Sadly, Gentaro was not at fault here. Because his is older, he was immediately attacked by Dad when Kintaro started it and kept coming after Gentaro. Poor sweet Gentaro. He looks so scared, confused and sad. I wish Gentaro knew how many people watch him and love him. I think that would make his little heart happy knowing how many love him. ;-)

Kintaro is in luck. In any cases Genki and Gentaro are on his side. But on the other hand Gentaro had hard time interacting with his father Momotaro in anything for some reasons when he was little.

@@Gorilla-Life Thank you for your comment. In his first year Gentaro was left for 10 months from his mother and father. He had mist the strong bond that young ones normally have with their parents. What went on his mind when he saw them. Must have been strange for all of the three of them, although Genki immedialtly closed him in her arms after being away so long

Momo is simply trying to protect his youngest, Kinny. I wonder if he instinctively knows Gentaro time to leave is nigh. The Zoo needs to enforce the natural order there, for the sake and safety of all. Then again they may feel Genki will probably get depressed if Gentaro leaves. Ich finde es schlimm was da mit Gentaro passiert. Sonst wenn Gentaro seine Mutter Genti ärgert schaut Momotaro nur zu aber dann in so einer Situation wo man nicht erkennen kann was los ist. Da rastet er aus sonst interessiert es ihn nicht was Gentaro macht höchstes wenn die zwei Brüder zusammen spielen stört er sie dabei spielt Kintaro am liebsten mit Gentaro und die zwei Brüder spielen gerne zusammen. Das ist auch das einzige was Gentaro hat .Sogar Genti verteidigt ihren großen Jungen. Sie ist eine starke Mutter. Gentaro wäre besser in Shabani Familie den Shabani ist ein besserer und gute Vater. 🦍❤

Super thanks ありがとうございます。この頃はですね、モモタロウは今よりかなり大人げなかったです。短気でもありましたね。今と比べると雲泥の差です。 今は、夕食時に途中からゲンタロウがモモタロウの部屋に合流するのですが、全然怒らないです。今までのモモタロウなら、怒っているか、ゲンタロウ自身が入ってこなかったはず。 モモタロウとゲンタロウとの関係性は良くなっています。 それでも、これからの1年で、ゲンタロウの独り立ちへの準備をしなくてはいけませんね。それをどのような形で進めるのかをこれからも追っていきます！

Believe it or not the one squealing like a girl was Gentaro. He was making the high pitched noises and you could also tell Genki was scared for her son because she always craps when shes scared.

My dear Gentaro, poor thing. As soon as Gentaro goes into the room where Kin and Genki are with Ms Hina, Genki takes Kin and runs away. I feel so sad for my big boy. He needs to be with other gorilla's around his age. 13 and up. Sorry some dont feel this way, but he's getting to be that age. I know he brings Kintaro much joy, but he's casted away from mom and dad a lot now. And we wonder why he acts out. If Gentaro is still with family when he's 13, theres going to be hair flying and punches thrown between him and Momo. PS Im am so happy to see Momo playing and showing attention to Kintaro. Hi Judging from the size of the enclosure, there is no possibility to make him have his troop in the same place. I know it is a shame but in reality the ecnlosure should be expanded at least twice to make it happen.

He's the worst !!! Now that Kintaro is at the fun stage to play he tosses Gentaro like yesterdays news. Gentaro was convenient at the time. He is jealous of Gentaro playing with Kintaro. It is so sad to see because they were very close and I thought they had a tight bond. Gorilla parenting instincts should kick in regardless if Biju had lived or died...Momo is a moody selfish gorilla who steals food from Genki and who will harm his own children for a treat from the zookeepers.

In that cese , there are two intentions ①The zoo keepers want them to stay in the tunnel for some reason. For example they check something while they are away. ②The zoo keepers want them to move to another room. At glance Genki and Kintaro are not concerned about going into the tunnel, right. So they also know about the reason to large extent. I suppose the two gorillas can guess what the zoo keeper does for them at that point.

All of this could have been prevented with treats.. I see it all the time with this zoo.... Maybe some fruit treats on that rainy day stuck inside.. Momotaro is Aggressive only when he is bored and HUNGRY! Even to the point, he Mauls little Kintaro... And poor Gentaro sucks his thumb for COMFORT. I didn't see any treats. Only the same Poopy environment with dirty grass around. Someone with Gorilla Expertise needs to step in.
