Gorilla making us laugh during a blizzard. Gentaro｜Momotaro family

Filming date : February 8th 2025 It had been snowing since last night. I, of course, rode my bicycle to the Kyoto Zoo this morning. On my way to the zoo, I was the only one riding a bicycle.　In the heavy snow, Gentaro was lucky enough to get a lot of carrots. Momotaro somehow stayed outside in the blizzard without going inside.

Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)　
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO
　　
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)　　　
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

It's unusual to see Momotaro's family in the snow. Judging by the fact that the gorillas are active outside, the temperature is not very low. Gentaro is happy to spend time in his new hammock!

Gentaro only 20kg. Less than Momo now? Wow thats crazy! Thats the first time i ever saw Momo interested in something ,checking out the falling snowflakes,he never seems too fazed by much or doesnt show it at least. I wonder why kintaro doesnt use a stick yet to get treats, he has seen both use the stick to get more treats. Gentaro is the only one that uses a stick on the treat trick box in the main room and gets all the treats and kintaro has seen him but still doesnt. Maybe one day. It. Will click

It would be good if the Zoo Keepers could arrange for a 'Retractable Canopy' to be assembled over the Nooks so the Gorilla's can get more shelter during 'heavy rain & snow'..Maybe, Ryan, you can suggest this to the zoo keepers

7:16 I am glad to see that the Zoo Staff are providing some forms of enrichment and food-games for the Momotaro Family, to help occupy their time, 😊 and it would be good if they would provide a wider variety of games and toys for them to play with. 😊 When I watch the other gorilla family, the Keepers provide a wider variety of food, such as eggplant, tomatoes, etc. ? I have been curious as to why this gorilla family seems to not get as much "stuff" as the other family? Asking respectfully, if by chance anyone knows why?

The answer is simple. Because of the many trees outdoors, it is impossible to photograph scenes of the gorillas being fed. Also, there are many rooms inside the facility, and if the gorillas move to the back rooms, we cannot see them eating. The gorillas eat a lot of food. It's all right.

Kintaro kn ows if he does the study work they will come to him but he really is getting behind Ln study work .and gentaro is now and even as a small boy he's brilliant. It goes to show in his intellectual as well cognitive skills that gorilla's are as smart if not smarter than me anyways . I wouldn't dare speak for others.

Under any severe weather, I ride a bicycle. I almost fell off but I was safe. On the way to the zoo, I didin't see other bicycles or cars or motor bikes on the street. Only me ! haha quite slippery on the street.

I've seen other outside spaces for gorillas but this one just a Dying plants metalwork climbing on to I need more space they need somewhere private to be little caves made for them and trees so they are not exhibit in all the time that's why they're stressed unnecessary spectral I care about all of them your exhibit is not good
