This is Jambo, a silverback gorilla who became a hero.
A boy accidentally fell into the gorilla enclosure and lost consciousness. The situation could have quickly escalated into a tragedy, but Jambo, the dominant male in the group, took matters into his own hands.
Instead of showing aggression, Jambo stood guard over the unconscious boy, positioning himself between the child and the other gorillas. He gently stroked the boy's back, trying to comfort him.
When the Keepers arrived to rescue the boy, Jambo led his gorilla family back to their hut, giving the rescuers the space they needed to safely retrieve the boy.
Years later, after Jambo's passing, a bronze statue was built in his honor. It serves as a tribute to the gorilla who helped change the public's perception of his species.

The animal did not understand that man fear him & can't go help the boy. He was properly thinking that the on lookers do not care at all about our kind. It never happened before for him maybe. In another perspective of why the animal was looking up. He was asking the adults to help the boy. So when help do arrived, he understood that it was he & his family that kept help coming for the boy. So he stood guard & moved his family away so the men can help the boy. Animal learned that adult human is never to be trusted. But for human children animals fear no threat. In the animal kingdom, they do have those who are not normal & become violent toward even human children. Our movements also can be interpreted wrong by the adult animals. Thus, why we have those attacked by animals that seems to us unexplained. In the wild each move has meaning to the animals. They sense if you are a bad or good person. They will put up aggression toward you even you did nothing to indicate aggression toward them. But if you are good, they just looked at you. Many will seems friendly toward you. But still be in the protective mode as a mean to protects their lives.

I’ve seen a man who is friends with a shark, I’ve seen a great white, go up on peoples boats for a snack, and then let them Pet it. I sent an alligator rolls eyes in the back of his head w/ joy when a human friend rubbed it’s bald head. Seen an octopus take a diver by the hand to get the diver to help it get a snack under a log. Seen a girl with a lil albino snake that gives her little kisses on the nose. Seen an eagle, grateful for a rescue, locate the human who rescued them and drop a fish off at their house as a token of gratitude. Seen monkeys and giant cats, so excited to see their owners, but so gentle when embracing them… Even though they were obviously very excited. People really underestimate how intelligent and emotionally deep animals can be, especially with humans. I can’t wait to see the next animal that surprises me.

This happens when a bunch of stupid people are yelling and throwing things at the gorilla, stressing him all out back when this happened people acted like they had a good sense for the most part. It’s a different world now.

I, too, are fascinated by them. They have 98% DNA so close to humans. Chimps are at 99%! I love all monkies, but gorillas are my favorite.

I remember this in the news. The little boy woke up and started moving and crying. The other gorillas started to come towards the boy. The Silverback kept chasing the other gorillas away and kept guard over the boy until the zookeepers got there to help him. That Silverback really did save that little boy's life.
