We did this from Bwindi last year. Seems expensive but its worth it. I believe it is more expensive in Rwanda. I dont recommend going from Kampala/Entebbe in a single day if you can help it. Its a long way and there is lots to see and do on the way. The comment about the bumpy roads is true and we had to do a long detour due to heavy rain. Got to our accommodation about 9:30pm. Dinner was waiting and welcome! Overall we took 3 days to get to Bwindi and spent 2 days getting back. There is a chance you will not find gorillas but I think it is low. No refunds if they cant be found which is fair. The terrain is steep, wet and rugged (and can be hot and humid) so make sure you get in some training. We are 60+ years old and spent 6 months training walking around our local hills to prepare. We took aluminium walking poles but I used the wooden ones offered locally. Super light and way better. We also hired a local to carry our packs and give us a hand on the steep bits. Could have managed without them but its cash into the local economy and we enjoyed talking to them anyway. We found our group in about an hour but it was pretty steep from our drop off point so it was quite a workout. Also look at the conditions in this video. Leggings, trainers and a fashionable jacket are not suitable. You will probably get wet, muddy, dirty, hot, tired and maybe bitten or stung by giant nettles but its all part of the fun. And no, you can't just get a permit and do it yourself. You would probably just get lost plus the interaction with the gorillas is tightly controlled for your protection and theirs. PS a short note on Uganda itself. It's brilliant! We loved it an would like to go back. Maybe one day😊

As far as I watched other trekkers it seems like you guys were less prepared, maybe it explains why you fell down more than 6 times and got charged by a gorilla

The video compilation is manic, doesnt focus on single episode, switching episodes every 3 seconds, unpleasant watching.. the longest episode is the author's showing himself and talking..., whereas the interesting part are gorillas, not the talking and walking people, we see that everyday on streets...
@jadezee6316 Жыл бұрын
people want to see the gorillas.....not you walking and whispering for no reason for 70% of the video
@tealsquare Жыл бұрын
They can pay for their own trip then, or watch the hundreds other videos on you tube. No need to take that attitude to someone's video. Be better!
