I have had a remarkable 2 for a few years now and I was really excited for the remarkable pro, but the lack of a revised software revamp discouraged me. I have a Note Air 3C on the way. I have had Android for many years now and am hopeful I can utilize the boox software.

I love it that you and your wife read with your two children every night. My wife and I try to do this too but our children are really resistant. I don’t know if you have any advice. For info, our daughters are aged 24 and 23.

These are completely different devices that happen to use the same screen technology. One is an iPad and the other is a pad of paper. As soon as I could get a large iPad with eInk, I got one (the Boox Max, soon to be replaced by a Tab X) - 5 years ago. That is my reading and PDF markup - the book or academic paper replacement. The other is an rM for writing my own notes. I don't want to flip between apps to read and write - I need to see them both. So, they are *always* on my desk, side-by-side. I read, and I write, and that's it. I don't want widgets to split the screen reducing an 8 1/2 x 11 document to half the size, and then have a tiny writing and drawing area for my own notes. Having one of each type is the least distracting and most productive choice. These 'vs' videos are great engagement stimulants, but they don't solve the decision problem by commingling devices with completely different purposes and design centers. You used to have a great set of marketing charts that show that the product market fits are completely different. What happened to that? Everyone who reads and writes really needs both devices. I will say, the rM Pro broke my paradigm a bit, because I can't use the same stylus while marking up and taking notes, like man has done for hundreds of years. I don't want to think about which stylus to use, which takes me out of the flow of thinking. I didn't think that through very well. Not sure the Pro is a keeper, just because of that. I don't need the color on a writing pad, I realized. Get both. The reason people are wasting time "choosing" is because they are for two different, complementary workflows. Having both completes the workflow

Love this comment! Agree entirely. Do you mean my matrices of ease of use vs fully featured etc. Or my comparisons that I made scoring the tablets for different use cases? I was thinking that they need totally resurrected in any case. I think that they became a little too busy to be useful. But now would be a good time to refine the criteria and do another scoring of them all. Cheers!

Just think when Boox does a tablet with Gallery 3. They'll do the screen control better, and combined with all that they've learned and implemented into the Go series, they'll be next level.

Let's hope. But I think they'd probably have to reinvent done it their UI to make it work with gallery! I guess it's good in a way that they are already forked into the Tab and Note styles of UI.

Thank you for your videos about these options. I am liking the Boox Go 10.3 that I picked up from Amazon. I was thinking about the Remarkable Paper Pro, but I'd prefer a Black and White version with the same features (minus color) of the Paper Pro. I do wonder though. Have any of your devices developed the coil whine that I've heard in other KZbin videos posted by other creators?

Mind blown and still can't make up my mind. Love the design of the Remarkable PP but not the price compared to the Boox; like the simplicity of the rMPP compared to the Boox as too many options for my brain to remember; like the Boox for all the other apps that can be downloaded to it but have a Kindle Scribe and Kobo Libra Colour if I need to read books. Would really love the rMPP but not sure I can justify paying the price for it - would you still recommend the RM 2 and purchasing secondhand? Or I may just wait for about 4 months and see how many get returned and hope they sell them cheaper as refurbished devices!

Hi, if I’m buying my first e-ink should I buy Go 10.3 or Note Air 3C? I would use it mostly for note taking, but I think it would be great if I can use colour in notes. But which has better writing feel? And which pen should I get?

You can't go wrong with note a3c. It's very polyvalent.

I would disagree about the rMPP handwriting being better than go10.3 - I tried the former first hand, and the pen in it wasn’t touch accurate enough to finish some of my rounded letters such as o’s and a’s. rM2 was so far the best in my experience, but added resolution on the go10.3 was showing my handwriting more accurately.

It was close. I think pure accuracy Boox would win, but the feel and the latency are a touch better on the rM Pro. 🙂 (IMO FWIW!)

Easy: if you need android and a jack of all trades, go boox. If you need a note taking instrument, go supernote. The inventor of the walkman was against a recording button because it would confuse people of what the walkman was supposed to be. Nevertheless, Swiss army knives still became a successful product despite not being excellent at any particular function. Supernote is the walkman, boox is the swiss army knife. Remarkable is a half assed smartphone pretending to be an iphone.

RM Pro with the Polymer Weave Grey Folio is a total cost of $718 in my cart. The Boox equivalent, which is the Boox Tab Ultra C Pro with the basic folio is a total cost of $649.99 in my cart. This is a price difference of $64 dollars. I get paid $15/h and so it just simply 4 hours of work for me.

@@davidr1431 The Boox 10.3 should be compared with the RM2. The Boox 10.3 go has no back light and no color. The remarkable product with no backlight and no color is the RM2, which is cheaper than the Boox 10.3. The correct comparison would be to compare the Boox 10.3 product with color and backlight. The video is comparing boox and remarkable design philosophy in general.
