Well, Murdoc, 2-D and all of them were out in the middle of the sea on Plastic beach so they needed Damon to perform for them I suppose, though Damon did kind of push them out of the scene; if you watch the videos Gorillaz priority walk and Murdoc's dressing room 1 2 and 3 you'll see what I mean ;)

Hunter Burkes Jamie Hewlett confirmed they were coming back on Instagram a few weeks ago when he posted a new Gorillaz drawing. Damon's also confirmed it via a Mexican interview a few days ago saying he's going to start recording a new Gorillaz LP in the fall.

I think it sounds better because it's real and live.
