@@dildonius he didn’t dislike them before, just wasn’t at all into them. Only really knew the songs I’d play on bass around him which he mostly liked. After the show he said he felt like he understood them much better. And there were a few songs he really enjoyed (Lost Chord, Opium, Fire Coming Out of the Monkey’s Head and Last Living Souls)

Ah, I remember that day, my parents and I were watching the pre-show and then the intro showed up and I was like: "Yup, that's Gorillaz, that's my favourite band.". We were all jamming together to the songs, my dad wanted to see Elton John and he was surprised it was a cartoon version of him lol. It was a lovely night. Thanks Gorillaz.

@@dildonius not really no it still had the sort of "party" before the actual event which seemed pointless seeing as you couldnt interact cus it was a recording. The onky thing that was different was getting to see the animations on a big screen and that was pretty cool in itself but overall everything was the same

It's even better when Schoolboy Q is there in person. When I saw them at The Los Angeles Forum back in September 2022, it took me by complete surprise when they started playing PAC-MAN out of nowhere (as they hadn't ever performed the song live except at these 3 livestreamed concerts), and then when Schoolboy Q _actually came out on stage in person to rap his rhymes_ my brain done gone and took a doggone shit! Amazing performance even though he clearly forgot the last couple of lines at the end of the song and needed to mumble/repeat earlier lines/ad-lib a bit to get through the last 10 or 15 seconds of the song, lol.

I watched Song Machine Live from Kong in a movie theater on 8 December, 2021. Was the same performance shown in theaters worldwide or did I see Performance 2 because I'm in the U.S.?

Someone else said they saw Performance 3, but idk if that's accurate or if they're mistaken and just saw what you did (their comment isn't in English, so they're not in the USA). So maybe they played 1, 2, or 3 based on what country you went to go see it in, or maybe it changed based on what showing you went to - like I imagine the cinemas probably played the show at least 2 or 3 times on that day, so maybe they just played all 3 and the one you saw depended on what time the showing you bought tickets to was...🤷🏼

Its just the exact tracklist of the standard edition of the Song Machine album from start to finish, in order, starting with Track 01 all the way down to Track 11 - except they played MLS instead of Chalk Tablet Towers for unclear reasons and also played Opium instead of Friday 13th because Octavian was revealed to be a massive scumbag like right after that episode of Song Machine released so as far as Gorillaz are concerned it doesnt exist and will never play it live. Then Matt Berry comes out to do Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head, which serves as a transition between the main show and the encore segment in which they play more mellow and acoustic versions of Last Living Souls, Dracula, Dont Get Lost In Heaven, and Demon Days. Then Sweetie Irie comes out to help them conclude the festivities with a rendition of Clint Eastwood (Ed Case/Sweetie Irie Refix).
