I know this song is about alcohol addiction. But as an anorexic, this to me speaks about my relationship with my mental illness and how it ruins my bond with people around me. "To binge" on food and then feel like a horrible undesirable piece of shit. To feel like you can't do it again but you can't stop. I don't know, this just always manages to make me cry.

⚠⚠WARNING THIS MAY BE KINDA SAD FOR SOME PEOPLE⚠⚠ Ok so i will tell you about what i think about when i listen to this. When i was 12 my mother was dating some girl and everything was fine until the lady stopped taking her pills for her bypolar personality (she said they made her too sleepy to so her job at work). She started blaming my mom for doing things she wasn't doing for example, cheating. It all got to be to much with the yelling and fighting so my mom did what she thought would be best which was to move out of the lady's house to my nana's house. We stayed there for about 5 months (keep in mind that my nana's house is in the city and the lady's house is in a different city) until my mom couldn't afford to drive me and my brothers to school in a different city. There was no other school near my nana's house so we just stoped going to school. Then my dad showed up from california (my parents got divorced when i was 4), he said that he wanted to take me and my brothers to california with him but my mom has trust issues with him since he tried to steal us from her once so she didn't let us go at first. My mom thought about it and said it would be better for us to go to california since we would be able to go to school there. So we left on the night of October 27. I was crying so much because i new my mom wouldn't be safe with that lady and because i new i would miss her. But then my big brother comforted me (he never does). My dad said he would take me and my brothers to therapy, now i might be taken to an institution for endangerment of myself. Sorry for telling my whole life story but i just felt like i had to. If Noodle IS involved in the meaning of this song, I feel like it's more like a connection between a father (2D) and daughter (Noodle) becoming estranged due to 2D's bad life choices 2D knows his life is messed up, yet he doesn't know how to fix it. Noodle in my headcanon is his adopted daughter (possibly secretly biological with a missing mom) who misses the bonding she built with her dad only for it to start drifting off to sea as she becomes a young adult, hence the slightly tropical music tone, once she realizes 2D is stuck in a loop of unhealthy habits. They want to help each other but their problems are keeping them from communicating with each other about them. Which I like to think would be what would actually help strengthen their bond again. But only time can tell if 2D will take that step, hence the melancholy tone.

Sorry if it's late, but it isn't your fault at all, you can have trouble talking to him, but you should try doing little things that could maybe help you two talking like talking to one of his friends or something like that, and if you can try getting help from friends because i'm just a stranger on the inernet and aren't especially good at advice, but yeah, try having help from friends, and when you feel it, write a letter or something like that, it help saying thing you couldn't tell him face to face, and for your sleeping problems try drinking hot milk or hot chocolate, listening to some calm music and/or read a book, if you don't have one wattpad can be helpful, also find a sound that calms you, nostalgic musics, waves, whales sound idk, but i hope maybe it'll be better for you and wish you a good night (sorry btw i'm french so my english is pretty bad)
