it's entirely possible that he died of complications after being run over. some animals can really last a stupid long while with unbelievable injuries. Though, considering the amount of viscera hanging from the poor guys mouth after he got hit, I'm surprised he lasted longer than a day.

It really sucks how prone animals are to making stupid decisions that result in their death graphic part maybe stop reading: there's a video of some ratite (ostrich I think) that got its neck stuck in between a pole and a hard place that couldn't figure out what to do so it just kept yanking and eventually it literally tore its own head off. After seeing that I get so scared when Kevin is sticking his head through the fence to attack Uncle Ben. Sometimes their stupidity is hilarious but it can be very tragic.

@@deadbunnys I get that. A lot of people have a phobia of spiders. I did, too, when I was younger. But it were tarantulas that helped me to overcome it. One day I stumbled upon a picture of a Caribena versicolor. It's the most beautiful species in my opinion and I was floored at how colored they can be. It got me into researching them and my initial curiosity turned into interest and then turned into passion. By now I've kept about 35 species myself. It was also the first time I touched a spider when I bought one for myself. Now I am not afraid anymore. Later, during my studies I wrote my bachelor thesis about the correlation between knowledge and fear and it turned out that it has a positive effect. If you are scared of something: research it. Make it known to you and it will become less scary.

Their diet mostly consists of vegetables and hay so it really doesn't smell like all that much, very similar to guinea pigs. That sediment in the humidifier tray can be removed with some limescale remover. You can also remove it from the water with a limescale filter. They're not too expensive, but the ones you don't have to switch once a month or so needs to be installed on the incoming pipe, so that could cost a little. If the animals are fine with drinking it as-is (most should be), you could just get a tap attachment for cheap for the kitchen tap. They usually cost about $10-15-ish, but need to be replaced once a month or so, depending on how often you run that tap.
