Well, you're in for a treat then... We've got a special peregrine and raven film coming up, filmed from a tracking vehicle, make sure you subscribe and watch out for it! Also make sure you check out the films we made with Red Bull, including the view from the back of Moses the peregrine...

Oh my goodness, ravens, I can't wait. Watching out for that and more! Absolutely incredible animal videos, but you already know that. These detailed renders are invaluable for any artist and I couldn't thank your team more for your time and dedication to bring this footage to us. A+

how many fps did you capture that hummingbird slow mo video?
@Parabueto12 жыл бұрын
this is an amazing video. You can really see how the bird is swinging herself up to put as much momentum into the first impact of the lure and all of the minute adjustments to her wings and tail to keep her on course. It happens all the time with raptors but all too quickly to really appreciate it. Thanks for doing this video.

This is THE MOST INCREDIBLE video I have EVER seen!! I have hawks around my house here in South Carolina, USA...It is just amazing to see this bird in flight and the way each movement is carefully crafted to make the most of her catch! YOU GUYS ROCK!! I am sharing this video with the world!!! Keep up the awesome work!!!!!!!

The complexity of the movement of all the wing's joints and feathers is mind-blowing and can only really be appreciated in a video like this. The bird's wings change shape and orientation in endless ways. No wonder human attempts to build machines to imitate this have so far failed miserably.

this is absolutely spectacular! i live just south of algonquin park so large birds (eagles, hawks, turkeys, vultures, etc) are not a rare sight but it's breath-taking to be this "up close and personal" - next time i see a black dot in the sky, i'll know what is happening!

I like that at 5000fps you can see the feathers turn out and as she brings her wings back up they turn back one by one before she flaps again. I wonder if you can see some interesting flight patterns at higher speeds.

Amazing. I think one of these (or a cousin?) was staying with us in the Mojave Desert. (S)he had a problem with one wing, so stayed very close, but didn't have trouble catching prey. Used to really enjoy spending time with her as she sat in a tree outside the house, looking in. She seemed as fascinated by me as I was by her.

Amazing shots! I'd love to see top down footage too, the dynamics of those top feathers as the airflow changes is one of my favorite things in nature :)

The part that amazed me in the final 5000fps shot, was that the Goshawk did not just pop the balloon. She caught and carried the entire popped balloon's rubber casing in a fraction of a second DURING its explosion.

If you really want to push the envelope, I believe the pistol shrimps' stike is the fastest thing in the animal kingdom. You might have to film at 10, 000 fps or more to see the cavitation bubble it produces.

What I see is the hawk slamming on the brakes at the final moment; all that kinetic energy gets transferred to the talons, like a 18 wheel truck slamming into a VW bug.

Is it possible to photograph these birds against a neutral grey background rather than black? The video is really great and I think you would see even more of the bird against a lighter background - thanks for sharing your work.

I'm reading MacDonald's "H is for Hawk" so was delighted to find this video ... I've never understood people taking pleasure in seeing predation, so am very glad you did not use a live animal, or even chunks of dead animals... That said, I was surprised that this supreme predator was willing to repeat "capturing" non-prey objects.
