I cannot thank you enough, I transfer the chord progression to C major(where I'm most comfortable playing). The beginning part where you give the example. you didn't really explain that part in detail because it was pretty advanced, but I just keep pausing and repeating the video to be able to see the chords better. I spent hours on perfecting it, but man, what a great tip to have in my arsenal right now. I'm a self-taught btw. keep em' coming coach!!!

Hi! Thank you for your tutorial! My name is Hector Aguilar and I like the exercise you did when you you played the melody notes C#, D, E, G, F#...because I discovered the many ways the bass line could played , it is awesome! Now I'm gonna play these diminished chords when I approach the V7 chord to IM7...In other hand, I guess you meant in the diminish passig chords to a minor in the 3:44 this execise: Bb° to Bm, B° to Cm, C#° to Dm, D#° to Em, E° to Fm, F#° to Gm, G# to Am. Also it is another similar exercise to play all the flat minor chords starting from C° to Dbm, and so on...greetings from Tijuana!

It's like going E7 (E, G#, B, D) to Am, just without the E.

One thing that i just realized today while playing was that passing diminished chords to get to the 6 are the same in every 3 half steps. For example, at 2:07 the passing diminished chords you used to get to the 6 in the key of D, you can use those same diminished chords to get to the 6 in the keys of F and A flat. Also, passing diminished chords used in C are the same in E flat, F# and A natural as well since they are 3 half steps from each other

I whipped some of these diminished chords out in church Sunday. They really are so cool. It's tempting to overuse them because they're so easy to incorporate. I only used them about once per verse or chorus. Looking forward to learning a lot more gospel tools! My church gives me free reign to play so I have to be careful. :)
