Honestly, I dont know how anybody remains friends with each other. Yes they are always there for each other but at the same time they have play each other so dirty. Looking back this friendship in general is toxic. Serena slept with Nat and ran away instead of telling the truth to her best friend. Chuck trade Blair for hotel. Also try to rape Serena and Jenny. Nat try to get with Serena even if he was still with Blair. Blair jealous with Serena has always gotten the best of her.

Also, he was one of the only friends that was either at every social gathering or knew of every social gathering that was going to happen. He was a wall flower for the longest time so of course it would be him. If not him I would think it was Georgina, but that would be too obvious. Also is season 2, when Serena called for the insider to come to the bar after graduation, he was the first one to show up. Also I love this O.C./Gossip Girl mashup.

I always wanted that gossip girl would be a real outsider. Someone who you would never suspect. Some girl who is sitting in a wheelchair, who can't go around on her own, who hates Serena, Blair and the others for having everything but not appreciating them. It would have been a major plot twist if gossip girl was, for example Chucks chauffeur. Someone from the working-class who stayed true to himself. Dan was at the end of the show, one of them. That Dan was gossip girl, was just mehh. You always knew it was him, you suspected it but the writers "told" you that it's not him.

I think y’all are missing the big picture as to why Dan was gossip girl, and y’all aren’t understanding why it’s so amazing that he turned out to be gossip girl. Dan was always the “outsider” he never fit in, and once he was finally somewhat into the circle... he still wasn’t completely respected because of where he’s from. He was seen as the little guy from Brooklyn who really had no business being apart of their world. So the fact that the writers made it that Dan was the one who basically controlled the way things happened in the upper east side is a complete mind fuck,and so satisfying. And I was genuinely surprised and happy when I found out. Plus they had multiple hints showing that Dan was gossip girl all along. Dan was one of the only people to ever really be seen on the gossip girl web site, (on a lap top where they would write the status’s and posts), Dan showed up first when Serena texted gossip girl, and a lot of the times when Dan sent out a gossip girl blast he looked amused. Plus he was the ONLY writer on the show (don’t even come at me with S by S or Vanessa’s stuff because that was all irrelevant), and he was the only one who wasn’t super affected when shit hit the fan. NOT TO MENTION whenever The site first started, around the same time when Dan first saw Serena... like the facts were there all along. ANNND he was the only one who wasn’t with the gang the night the lap top was stolen back from Serena.. plus you guys remember that one time when gossip girl was like “after today Serena is officially irrelevant.” And that same episode Dan wanted to cut ties with her? If gossip girl was anybody else the show would’ve been stupid and pointless. 🤷🏽‍♀️ SO THANKS WRITERS I APPRECIATE YOU GUYS FOR NOT MAKING IT A DUMB CHARACTER ! 😊

Naouel Probably not, Dan always had things posted about himself while he was in public and reacted like he was embarrassed or whatever, it didn’t really make sense.

Still doesn’t make sense that Dan is Gossip Girl but I’ve just accepted it. People in the comments complaining about forgiving him, when Chuck in season 1 tried to rape Jenny and Serena implied he’s done it before and lot of other stuff our main characters have done that IMO worse than the whole Dan being GG. They also contributed with sending their secrets to GG. Anyways, this is still one of my favorite series ever.
