Great sermon! Another saying, which I don't know if its a Bible one "A still tongue makes a wise head". Don't get involved by giving your opinion.

Gossip cause a lot of problems. I seen a lot of relationships got destroy over relationships. Some people like to gossip about people business but don’t want no one talk about them 😂 😂 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♂️. A person gossip to u will gossip about u. You can’t trust a gossip person at all.

Like yes, but women have used gossip for years to give each other heads up of who is a bit shady. We need to know if someone will sexually assault us. Like its unfortunate . Sometimes its not correct, true, but sometimes it is. So talking about a abuser behind their back is important. The "ladies watch out for this" eeeeeeverytime someone preaches about gossip drives me nuts. Sweat the small stuff, cut it back. But give women the right to warn each other safely.

Keziah Turner It's OK to speak to someone who will help you personally and to report an abuser. That's not gossip, as long as it's honest. 2 Timothy 1:7: "for God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline." (NRSV).

If you don't know for a fact that a person is an abuser you shouldn't be telling anyone else that they are. If you just heard it through the grapevine then it is gossip. Your example can be used in reverse. Men tell other men about women who have loose morals and are "gold diggers". Would you want a bitter ex to tell people that you are a gold digger and have those folks spread that to others if it isn't true? If it IS true then those men have a valid warning. If it isn't true then your reputation has been permanently damaged. Also, how does this relate to forgiveness? How long ago did this man abuse someone? Should you spread information on someone regarding an incidence that happened 10 years ago? What if he isn't the man he was 10 years ago?

@@bridgetwhelchel6472 Its such a difficult subject. I think if we know for a fact we can tell. If we have experienced it. What if it is molestation in the family? When there is abuse in the family denouncing it is not gossip it is vital. Or abuse within the church - which I have suffered from and could escape by God's grace, I told my a close friend of mine and have zero regrets, that was not gossip that was a warning for her not to go there as people have their lives ruined by that abusive so-called church. The Bible says a preacher's reputation must be without reproach. Which suggests that some of his actions can bring it to himself and that people will inevitably talk. So can all talk be classified as "gossip"? I am not sure. But I agree that we should check facts cause more often than not those are dangerous lies. Talking behind people's back without checking info is damaging. And even when they are facts, unless they are abusers or anything dangerous, it's a sin. I have poisoned my bff's mind and instantly regretted it. That was over a year ago. Pray for me to right my wrongs.🙏
