Tastes are funny...the spalting and the abalone sound-hole ring - things you don't like - I absolutely love. Tastes are funny. Aren't they?

I love watching your videos! I always get excited when a new got a ukulele review is available to watch even though there is the possibility that I may never be able to play a stringed instrument again. I had a stroke back in November and I have lost the use of my left hand, but I still watch your videos and read your reviews and I love them immensely. I want you to know that we really appreciate what you do for the ukulele community and that we fully understand that you have got to take care of yourself and your family first, and we're all hoping that you're going to be okay and then maybe one day we'll be seeing your reviews again.

I see this review is 3 years old so I've seen newer videos from you so glad you got over it and you're well I'd like to get an islander as they have the wider nut but even though I like the looks of this one I probably won't get one like this it's a little too busy for me but it is definitely unique and it's done well as always thank you for your reviews much appreciated

A rather attractive ukulele from a quality company. I like it. Yes, the sustain could be better, but I kind of like the chimey sound. If one finds a concert a little uncomfortable to play, you can get close to the sound with this tenor. Thanks for an interesting review! Take all the holiday you need and see you when you are back!

Looks amazing. May sound ‘bright’ but every string seems to own its own note; none seem overshadowed or ‘lost’. I’m in love with the look but for sound, think there might be better out there, even in the Islander brand. Also wonder, if different strings might help change the tone a little? Anyway, I’m high on ideas but low on experience, so not knocking this amazing looking ukulele just thinking of a certain Baton Rouge, solid redwood top, that sounded amazing, for - if I remember rightly - less money. 🤷♂️ Thanks Baz!

I really like this ukulele. Thank you so much for the review. I personally love the spalted maple look. In your personal opinion would you choose islander over the Kala model? I'm seriously thinking of buying one. Also I have no music shop near to buy from here in Ireland. What online music dealer would you recommend to purchase from? Thank you
@GotAUkulele3 жыл бұрын
yes, personally I would - Kala's generally have necks that are too narrow for my tastes. This is a Hawaiian profile neck - super comfortable for my large hands.
@Joel-UkeAlot3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I prefer a wider neck too

I may be committing heresy, but I like sound of my Islander tenor over my Martin tenor
@GotAUkulele3 жыл бұрын
Not heresy at all - sound is SO subjective. My reviews are only ever just one guys opinions - what matters is what players themselves think of what they own. I love the sound of Bruko and Flea ukes - many people hate them!!
@mausi842 Жыл бұрын
I find the price way too high for a laminate ukulele. You can get a solid wood instrument much cheaper (I own one made in Portugal). I believe though that the overall quality of this brand ist very good.
@GotAUkulele Жыл бұрын
I'd take good quality laminate over cheap solid wood EVERY time. I think the assumption that 'solid is better than laminate' in all cases is flawed.
@richardsnow72993 жыл бұрын
Still has a lovely sound nonetheless. Do they do a concert size? Lovely instrument.

Most solid mahogany wood tenors will be a darker sound than something like this.
