I'm swedish so I could get this without problems... I'll think about it, seems great and a good price! I love that they translated it wrong and thought the name meant dolphin and then hid the dolphin in shame on the back of the headstock when they found out they made an error! (I know the dolphin is probably on the back because it would clash horribly with the rest of the looks but I prefer my narrative). Excellent review as allways.

I like the sound: mellow with sustain, a hard pairing to find! And the bling makes me think of brown and white saddle shoes.

Nice instrument and I agree that the price is right on it. It sounds as good as much higher priced ukuleles of many brands. I never heard of it they should really move these they would be a big seller as well made as they seem to be. I was thinking that the fretboard looked a little light just as you were saying . I totally agree. Another great review thanks…..DOC

I quite agree - can only find these within EU and I think they would sell anywhere.

It has a really nice sound, and looks really nice too. The only things I don't like is the strip down the centre of the fretboard and the white and cream parts not matching up (either with all white or all cream. Not that bad a price either for what you're getting. All in all I think that's a really cool uke. Also, subscribers are coming along nicely, slowly but surely. 26K now!
@GotAUkulele2 жыл бұрын
I agree on the mis match - though the stripe is pretty integral to the 3M look they are going for

Sports anglers in Florida still refer to the fish as a dolphin. IMHO, the brilliantly colored dolphin fish (not mammal) would have made a much more handsome headstock inlay or logo. The double dots make the fretboard look like a game board. Sounds pleasant enough, though.
@GotAUkulele2 жыл бұрын
Quite agree - i'd ditch the logo full stop and go with the name in some nice lettering.

Great review, I think the UC 10 beats a lot of theses ukuleles in this price range and it’s less money, it’s like aNueNue has just said catch me if you can, that’s a good straight forward ukulele but if you put that in my hands and a UC10 I would take the UC 10 every day of the week, would you ?
@GotAUkulele2 жыл бұрын
I love the UC10 to bits - my favourite uke of 2021 - but not sure it's fair to compare it to this - very, very different things surely?
@440robin12 жыл бұрын
@@GotAUkulele I suppose your right, and different colours may not be everyone’s cup of tea and it fits the bill well in your reviews that a well built laminate back and side solid top can give the cheaper solid wood ukulele a run for there money

Hi, I'm Brazilian and I really like your channel! Congratulations! Here in Brazil we have few brands specializing in ukulele. I'm going to the United States and I would like to buy a ukulele for up to 300 dollars. (concert ou tenor). Could you suggest a good value ukulele? Thank you!

Can only really direct you to the full review list - there are a lot that I recommend and choosing between them gets really personal and subjective on looks - anything scored 8 out of 10 or more is recommended one way or the other. Over 9 are indispensable! Higher scores the better. Those highlighted bold get special mention. Here's the full list - www.gotaukulele.com/p/ukulele-reviews.html

But I would be looking at brands like Flight, Snail, Ohana, Uma, Kai if you can find them. Kala are reliable enough, but think they are easily beaten for the money by the above. You might get lucky and find a discounted Pono brand for that money (highly recommended)

I wonder if the 'too perfect' finish annoys simply because it's too perfect in the face of the other 'little' things that they could've addressed but didn't....like the tie bar bridge that should really be a slot-style bridge, the 'moustache' of the bridge that's not quite mirrored and mixing in white in the perfling instead of sticking with cream throughout. They're little things that annoy the eye and make the person dissatisfied without really knowing 'why he/she is dissatisfied.
@GotAUkulele2 жыл бұрын
I think my 'too perfect' comment was clumsily used - what I meant was - it feels like it was made by a robot, not a person. Take Kiwaya for example - they are not actually luthier ukes and are still production line, but they feel like they were done by hand. This feels more 'spray booth'.
@stuartmccrea2 жыл бұрын
4:25 totally get what you mean, but my immediate thought was “spare us from a new fad of ‘relic’d’ ukes” 🙈 Maybe someone is already doing them? As a guitar player too, I never understood the craze. Each to their own though
@GotAUkulele2 жыл бұрын
Take your point - and I hate reliced instruments too. What I mean is - if you look at something like a Kiwaya - they are technically factory produced, but the finish, whilst flawless has a feel of 'hand made' to it. This has a feel of 'spray booth'. It's tidy, but no character.
@ettoliram81162 жыл бұрын
It looks like this one has a sort of not-quite-matte, open pore finish, is that correct?

Hi Barry. I’ve really gone off the look of tie bar bridges, I think slotted looks so neat, also would I be right in thinking that through body fixing take the strain off the bridge. Thanks for a good review. Much appreciated
@GotAUkulele2 жыл бұрын
Through bodies definitely remove more of the lateral pull that sees bridges rip off.

A nice instrument, just don't get the point of making it look like a Martin. Then changing other stuff making it not look like a Martin. Why not just give it it's own look, if you want a Martin get a Martin. It's a good enough instrument without trying to be something else. It's like sticking a Rolls Royce grill on a Ford. A nice uke spoilt by trying to look like something it isn't, in my humble opinion.
@GotAUkulele2 жыл бұрын
I think you make a very fair point Joe
