Just a thought for you ... You can recycle oyster shells by crushing them up and using them to feed to chickens. Just saying, I am sure there are allot of ways to use the shells. Good luck on your business. Looks like you guys are doing great so far. Thanks for the videos.

We are not offering open at home oysters at this time. When we did we sell them for opening at home we did so with the explicit understanding that we will not guarantee that they will have one in it, there is just no way for us to verify that it hasn't been altered. In all of the oysters that we have opened we haven't found one without a pearl.

You guys might want to consider using gloves to protect your skin from the chemicals the oysters are packed in. It will dry out your skin something terrible. Love the show.

Bet Freddy: I have done this before and often. Buying pearls in bulk is the cheapest way get them to make jewelry. The alcohol they pack pearls in dries hands out horribly if you do it often. I should know. I'm just trying to save Shannon the problem of finding out the hard way. Gloves are inconvenient, but worth it in my opinion.
