I made a little tool for sanding the curves. I moistened an inexpensive emery board from Dollar Tree (they frequently separate on their own) and cut lengthwise strips which can then be glued to a q-tip stem or a thin coffee stir stick. I also have a set of jewelers files which work great for curves, but I keep the emery board ones in my box of itty bitty paper craft tools.

That is a great idea. I’ve tried using the thin strips around my finger but often I need something smaller. Using a Q tip sounds great.

Mornin' Pam. Puzzle pieces are fun to play with. Sometimes I just leave them as is when the picture on them are pretty or suit your need. Also, they are layers of cardboard so I've found it's easy to peel the picture layer off and just use that when you want a thinner, flat piece to glue into your journals. (they can also look cool in a collage). TFS Regards to the menagerie and Papa too. Hope you all have a great day. 🌞

Good morning, Pam! These are brilliant! As half the JJ'ing world knows by now, I'm involved in a craft fair at church next month. I can see a set of these (maybe six to a pack) done on a Christmas puzzle (in theory the front side will be mostly red, green, and white) and make little ornaments. I also see larger kid-size puzzle pieces decorated on both sides, sealed with Mod Podge, and hung on a key chain. I remember Tina at Shabbydabbydoodah peeling the shiny paper off the front so she was left with two decorateable sides since the shiny side doesn't glue as well as the cardboard side. I'm off to have fun! Love and hugs, MK ♥️🤗🏜🤗♥️ Oh, and yay! It was 62 degrees here this morning and you can bet your bottom dollar that I put on my "Everything is a Craft Supply..." sweatshirt! Everyone loved it, said it was "so me". Hugs!

Hi Pam, long time watcher from the UK, first time commenter! An easier method is burn off excess napkin, as long as glue is damp no damage and leaves brown scorched edge that saves inking! 💖

LOL!!! I a year late to the party but youtube has finally decided to show via my feed your videos from 2-3 years ago!!! I have never seen them because I always give a thumbs up to those I have seen!!! Love your project .....I am presently working on a puzzle (my son bought me a set of 6 each 1000 pieces! that I would be ready to decorate them in a different way but alas! I won't! Winter has been very very cold and this puzzle - among other things - keep me occupied. I did however, learn something that puzzle pieces have different names!! I had to lol when the mower? started outside because it seems every time I want to watch your video, hubby decides to serenade me with his guitar and singing!!!! Take care and thanks for the great idea of using puzzles as decor!!!

I decorated some puzzle pieces for a swap once a long time ago. Just used patterned paper to cover them but napkin would have been easier, so thanks Pam. One thing I did to get the "innies" sanded was to take a small piece of light sandpaper and wrap it around a pen or a skewer and glue it. It got into the little nooks and crannies really well. I must go and see if I have any old puzzles left from grandkids-sitting days.

Love these puzzle pieces. Love all your videos. I started junk journaling watching your videos. To separate napkins though I just wet thumb and forefinger and grab in the corner. Open your fingers and it comes apart. That way the white layers don't tear and you can use them for other crafting/art journaling etc.

Found this online: Tabs and blanks seem to be the most common names for the parts that connect with other pieces. There are other names, though. Instead of “tabs”, some people like to call them “knobs”, or “bobbles”, or “heads”. The last blue piece has 4 “blanks”, but other names for those open spaces include “pockets”, “slots”, “holes”, and “indents”.
