This is insane value and super interesting. Question, if I have a micro site under a different web host/email/entity and link it to my main website, will Google know that I’m the owner of both sites based on IP address or some other signal? Just curious if this changes the effectiveness of the backlink…or if it really just depends on the authority and age of the backlink coming from the micro site.

Great insights Nathan. You have solid approach on the future of SEO. My biggest challenge is ranking better to get more traffic. I’m not into any black hat techniques like buying backlinks etc, so how can I do this w/o trying to game the system? I get stuck all the time when hearing the same old thing about creating “HIGH QUALITY” content, “UNIQUE and FRESH” content. I mean, my personal experiences and approach may differ than others but there’s nothing necessarily “unique or fresh” about it. How do I make my content live up to this standard?

Good stuff, Nathan. Note that we recently encountered a scenario in which our site was repeatedly hit with 3K+ "direct" hits on average over 2-3 months, which we attributed to AI scraping bots. This triggered GA4 to mark it/them as "anomalies," rendering a sudden drop and pause in indexing until the bots expired. Have you ever seen this, and if so, how do you combat it-especially given that the LLMs deploy these? Or do they? There's no way of telling in GA4 that I know of. The ramifications of this as an unsolved issue are dire. We are looking at implementing an htaccess file in Cloudflare. Thoughts?

Thanks! Sounds like an anomaly, but you'd have to find out what the crawler is. Then you can put a rate limit on it in your robots.txt file

Can you please tell me does 301 redirect backlinks work. I had a website that was working fine but with the last november spam update it got hit, now i want yo redirect its backlinks to my new 1 month old domain. Will it be good ans pass any link juice to my 1 month old domain? Please suggest me please

Link equity does pass, but so can penalties, If you got hit by the spam update, then the link quality is likely low. So you wouldn't want to redirect those links to your fresh domain. You might be off starting from scratching and learning from what didn't work
