I'm sorry that you had family say that you are too emotional. Don't change. I think we lose part of our humanity if we are not emotional. How else does someone really feel empathy or compassion? We all show emotion in different ways, that is what makes us unique. I think you are a VERY lovely person. Don't change, just acknowledge and just know that you disagree and move through it. We don't get OVER things, we get through it. Stay true to you - you are a gift.

I think this one is very personal for Taka too. He had a falling out with his parents, especially his father, as a teenager. He’s been pretty open about it. They had expectations of him and he wanted to do his own thing. They only reconciled as adults, but they have a pretty good relationship today from what I gather. Still, I think the lyrics of this song definitely carry a bit of that in them. Other ONE OK ROCK songs are written about his parents too, Nobody’s Home and Always coming back. Very emotional, both of them. Also, you being genuine and open with your emotions is my favorite thing about this channel. I hope you never stop being you. :)

I lived in Japan for four years and unfortunately did not have the chance to see them tour during that time. But I did go to other artists' concerts. Shows in Japan are really something else. There is so much respect for the artists and the music. And there is such genuine love/happiness felt from artists for their fans. The feeling of unity between performers and fans at Japanese shows is something that you don't see just anywhere. I have had a very difficult time re-adjusting to concerts in the US because the atmosphere/culture is so different (fans don't let songs end before lots of whooping and yelling, artists can't speak without being screamed at, etc.). I have followed ONE OK ROCK since their debut and they really are something else. I fell in love with their messages first and the music second. They were one of the only Japanese singer-songwriters mixing English into their songs and having it MEAN SOMETHING with the flow of Japanese lyrics before and/or after (or in the early days, at least 90% of the time; Taka's English was very good from the start but has gotten even stronger over time). ONE OK ROCK's music, lyrics, and delivery (performances) are all top notch. I am so happy to see you so in love with them as well! 🙂

This performance is different from the recorded version. This is emotional one, so we completely understand you. We felt that too, the first time we have watched this. Taka has the capacity to make you feel what he feels just with his voice. @WHiZDoMz4 ай бұрын
The original version of this song was written by OOR and 5 seconds of summer. The recording version is definitely more upbeat. Taka's parents did go through a divorce. They are very public people in the music industry in Japan. This concert was in 2018 shortly after the untimely death of Chester Bennington, who was good friends with taka and OOR. They were planning on touring together. Its been said that the long silence was in honor of Chester. At the end, he thanks the audience for the given respect allowed. They have been together since 2005 so like 18 years. The two members that were friends before the creation of the band were Toru guitar and Ryota base. They were originally a 5 member band but they quickly realized realized who will stay. The rasp in Taka's voice that's not usually there was due to him not feeling well that day, yet it made the song so much more emotional. Frankly, kudos to him for performing the full 2h+ show while feeling unwell, without making it feel like it was in any way inferior to their other live performances when everyone was in tiptop condition. They were supposed to tour with Linkin Park, but Chester's sudden death prevented that from happening. I heard that this concert is a memorial concert for Chester and the long silence in the song is a prayer for Chester.

I had the wonderful chance of meeting them in person about 7 years ago. Going shopping in El Paso, Texas. The previous year I had missed seeing them in concert at Warped Tour because I was on a church mission. Honestly that was the only thing that really bummed me out on my mission. When I came back home, about a year later I was shopping in El Paso, Texas, and just bumped into the bassist, Ryota. When we said that we recognized him he got very excited.

We asked if the rest of the band was there, he said Yes. He introduced us to Taka and Toru, sadly Tomoya was asleep on the tour bus. I showed them that I had their first two albums signed hanging on my wall, and all of their albums on my phone. They were really excited to meet people in the U.S. who recognized them and loved their music. Even invited my brother and I out drinking, which we turned down. Offered to buy them dinner though. They were just, the absolute nicest. Feel like that was God paying me back for missing them at warped tour. 7 years later, still my favorite band.

This is one of the reasons why I love music. It helps us process what we are going through, shows us we're not alone and comforts us at the same time. My heart breaks for you in this video, and I don't think I can fully express why - it is a very long story. But some people (unintentionally and probably even unconciously) have made me feel like I'm being too much in certain things throughout the years too - I have started to believe that I'm sharing too much, opening up too much, wanting too much, being too emotional or sensitive, etc. And I'm only now learning to allow myself to be this way and see it as a strength, courage and a part of my uniqueness. This is when I've realised that I will never regret being genuine with myself, my feelings and others. (That is why it's a relief to hear you say that you won't change yourself because of that. I hope we all can accept ourselves and not lose ourselves to fit. Wishing you the strength to process this!) The way you express yourself in your videos and share your reaction, emotions, thoughts is something that speaks to me and makes me feel better on days like this - when I get too caught up in work, in the struggles I face while working as a team leader (like feeling that I'm not enough for this) or overthinking my actions and the way I am. I'm glad to have found your channel. Thank you for another video!

I think being emotional means being sensitive. When you are highly sensitive, it is easier to share your feelings with those around you through facial expressions and movements. Sometimes we accept these emotions too much and it overflows. However, the connection between people, the feeling of caring for others, and the feelings that are important for building bridges. Treat yourself once in a while. Are you getting excited to hide your feelings? Don't you think you shouldn't show it in your daily life? There are times and circumstances, but it's okay to be honest. It's okay to make time for yourself and cry as much as you want. It seems like you feel like you have to change, but I thought it would be a good idea to keep your emotional state intact and create the words and current situation around you in your head, and then communicate them. . Controlling emotions is very difficult. I think it's wonderful that I was able to meet this group and see everyone's comments about you. I cried too because TAKA put so much emotion into it. I feel a little refreshed. I decided to watch my favorite comedy. What is your favorite thing? Please try to remember. 😊👍

I don't know you very well, but I can say that the sincerity you show and the way you express your emotions is your greatest strength. I certainly think you are an excellent person, a very nice person who will undoubtedly give all the necessary love to your children. On the other hand, speaking of One Ok Rock, as I always say, I understand your feeling. From the first time I heard them, I felt something strong in my heart and I said to myself: "this band is different" And I only needed a couple of songs to know that one day I needed to go to one of their concerts (it is an almost impossible dream because my conditions do not allow me) But this strong feeling and desire has not diminished in the 8 years that I have known them, rather than decrease, it becomes stronger every day, as well as every time I listen to a new song or a new interpretation, I do not stop to fall in love as if it were the first time.

Yeeess! Take What You Want is one of my favourite songs. I never liked it on the record but when I heard him sing it live, I changed my mind completely. It's sooo impactful, it's crazy!! Real good reaction, thank you! I'm glad you feel oor as much as we do! You know how people recommended you MY FIRST STORY, Taka's little brother's band? I'd def check them out, he's got suuuuuch emotional depth in his texts and voice! You know they are related!! Go and have a look at "ハイエナ" from "The Home Take". It's in Japanese but there's english subs you can turn on. Without even knowing the texts, I can assure you that you can feel his emotions very clearly. Little tidbit: Taka and Hiro (that's his name) didn't talk to each other for a long time (their family life was very complicated). And when Hiro started his band, he got very bad backlash and was bullied online and he just wanted to be on eye level with his big brother. Everyone knew about it. And JUST RECENTLY they made up and even appeared on stage together, like, two weeks ago or so. The scene basically COLLAPSED when they heard. They're gonna perform together on stage, like, have a "taiban" (a whole concert together) next year. And I'm so jealous, I want to be there! Anyway, very long story short: keep up the good work, I love watching your reactions! And don't ever let anyone tell you you're too emotional. There's so much beauty in this world and it's a strength to feel all that! :) Cheers! xx EDIT: Oh, if you really want to break your own heart, go have a look at MY FIRST STORY's "Home" at Budoukan live. The song's about their broken family and he collapses crying halfway through it. It feels too personal for a lot of reasons, but it's on their live DVD for a reason too. It's only on YT in dubious quality. He wrote it in reaction to ONE OK ROCK's "Nobody's Home", which I'd recommend checking out in the process as well for that matter... HAVE FUN!

Thank you for being vulnerable in this video. You are amazing the way you are. I personally believe we need more men like you, who are not afraid to express emotions. When they performed this song in our country, on the silence part, he didn't sing until the crowd was 100% silent. It took literally a few minutes. You could really feel he was silently conveying "I'm not singing until you feel this moment." He's such a stage commander. Sending you much love. 🤍🤍

There’s no such thing as being “too emotional”…that I know of. It’s not healthy to keep emotions bottled up too long. You’re so open hearted and it’s always special seeing how much you feel from music that it just overflows from you. 😊 Whether it’s being extremely giddy and not staying still, laughing, or crying as you experience new music. 💕 That’s the reason why we even have music. That’s it’s purpose. To simply express emotions that can’t be kept inside any longer. Please never change who you are or how you react to…to anything! That’s what makes you, you. And that’s what keeps me coming back to your videos. Love from across the pond in the U.S. (^~^) 💕🦋

Thanks to you I came to know about this band🥹I grew up with Taka’s parents songs, even though it wasn’t my type of music. I knew their love stories, I knew that they had tree boys, and one of them had hard time with the father. I never have imagined that this boy sings so well😳😳😳I am now great fan of this band thanks to you❤

The best song of his, shouting if someone will hear it, its so hovering, the crowd, the atmosphere, love of the people,... and sure they love you too ❤❤❤

I am so, so sorry to hear that anyone in your family thinks you are "too soft" and/or "too emotional." It makes me really sad that they feel that way. Emotions are what make us human. Emotions make us empathetic and compassionate toward others. When we don't feel/show emotion, we lose our humanity. One of the reasons I love your reaction videos so much is because you're not afraid to show your emotions and your vulnerability. Music is meant to make us feel something, whether it's happy or sad, or anything in between. That's the power of music. Your ability and willingness to be vulnerable and share your emotions with us is what makes it possible for us to connect with you even if through a screen. That is a gift. YOU are a gift. Anyone who can't see that or accept that's who you are... that's their loss. Not yours. 💜💜💜

I love your reaction and I feel you - I got emotional listening to it, too. Taka is an awesome vocalist and he writes songs with meaning. I heard the crack in his voice, also. Listen to his acoustic songs like Taking Off and Heartache. This man is a true song stylist and writer.

Aaah, it's a shame I am here after a year you've posted this video, but..... I read from somewhere, written by someone, that he dedicated this performance to Chester, from Linkin Park, whom he was friends with (after he passed) and god does it make this a thousand times more emotional. Anyhow, it does not matter to me, personally, if it's a fact or not, this live is a fucking killer as one. Taka always delivers and the band is amazing.

I’m seeing them live this Saturday for the 3rd time and I am SO excited!! I hope so much that you get to see them live some day because the energy is incredible! (they don’t play in giant stadiums like that in the US, it’s a small standing room only venue but it makes it so intimate and getting to see all the member’s facial expressions is worth it)💜

TAKA…😢 100👍️for you Being emotional is not a bad thing in Japan. It is also a manifestation of purity. That's one of the reasons why I like your reaction. With your reaction, I can know the wonderfulness of the song again. Please stay as you are. By the way, guys! We forgot Clock strikes!

Sadly a lot of people who are new to them or don't know this song won't understand. It's a shame because to experience it in the full silence must be something truly special ❤️

The break was a moment of silence for Chester Bennington; it puts the song in a whole new light when you feel like Taka is singing to one of his musical idols (and explains why he might have been holding back tears), but it could be about any number of other difficult experiences. The crowd was incredible, it must have felt so special to be in the room at the time, wow. Sending you love too, hope you are in a better place now. :)

Also I have never visited your channel before so you may already be a fan, but on the topic of emotion: please please go and listen to the song "Emotions" by 5 Seconds of Summer. It is such an honest dialogue with a man who might be "too emotional" for some people but we fucking love him and think he is perfect as he is. Vulnerability is beautiful.

I've got to say, what I love and find most special about this channel, especially compared to the other music reaction channels, my favourite thing, is crying with you, it's so important to do and it really makes the love for music go so much deeper, those that deny themselves their tears will never have that and I honestly pity them for it. I love crying to one ok rock with you. It really shows how good they are, it's definitely the best way to appreciate their absolutely beautiful music Also I definitely recommend you check out their new album, I think you've already heard some of them especially the singles, but Broken Heart of Gold is definitely a good cry one (this one is my biggest cry with my relating with depression), I also love Prove and Let me let you go

It's weird and beautiful at the same time in the best way to know people feel these with me. Weird because I'm just alone recording it, but then when people watch it, we're not alone anymore ❤️

Great song!! Tear breaking. That huge pause is amazing. I bet they have experienced a bad break up. The lyrics are just that. So sad when you have to tear appart a home and all the stuff. The memories. Great song.

Love the reaction, I always look forward to your ONE OK ROCK reactions! These boys mean so much to me, and seeing someone react and enjoy them they same way I do is just one of the greatest feelings. I'm sorry to hear you are going through something rough at the moment, just know you have all of us behind you. It takes so much courage to first of all embrace and show such raw emotion on the internet, and for that I think you are such a brave soul. Stay true to yourself, we'll be with you all the way 💜

Some bands just have the ability to connect with people with their music and their writing, Taka and OOR are certainly one of them. I see a few more suggestions for “Clock Strikes” which I know you would love…
