I lost my 33-year-old daughter three years ago to metastatic melanoma. She introduced me to Taylor's music years ago. As she was dying, I played Folklore and Evermore. So, Taylor's music holds a special place in my heart. I cannot listen to "Ronan" or "Marjorie," which is also tricky. It took me almost a year and a half to listen to those albums again. During my grief, I started watching reaction videos so I could feel something other than pain. That's how I found your channel, among others.

This is it. She feels like our own daughter, sister, granddaughter and we protect her as such. That's why you see so many of us up in arms if someone posts her location or if someone posts intrusive photos. She has been so through it, so stalked, so threatened. She goes to a wedding and THOUSANDS of fans show up and close down BLOCKS. It hasn't been this bad since Elvis and the Beatles.

Along with happy, she seems so freaking confident too! She is glowing lately. I do believe it’s due to being happy with how life is going and the fact she does have someone in her life that can handle her chaotic life and treats her like the queen she is.

You are such a kind and happy person and you make so many people happy through watching you and I just wish you’d grown up with people encouraging you more to pursue everything that interested you. I really admire that you became the person you did and that you have taken your life experiences and turned everything around for your sons and they’ll be so blessed with a father who supports them unconditionally. Hope you feel better Luke 🩷 Also, the thing that always gets forgotten about the 2009 VMAs was AFTER Kayne did his antics on stage, Taylor had to go LIVE and perform after she was devastated and in tears back stage. At 19 years old 🤯 Ellen has a lot to answer for, she absolutely contributed to the “Taylor Swift is a vapid boy crazy girl” narrative. It’s gross to look back on it now and see Taylor who was creating amazing art and Ellen focused on that sexist / dismissive narrative.

One more comment- Travis’ mustache is a tradition ever Summer as his football season starts. He does it because his coach has a cheesy, bushy mustache. He usually lets his beard start growing back in as it gets colder. Also, great news - he’s going to have a cameo in the Happy Gilmore sequel that is filming soon.

Recognizing her development as a person over the past nearly 20 years.. she has learned all these lessons publicly.. a lot of times the hard way, she does seem to be her best self currently, I think as a long time fan. And I think her getting to that point (with her own growth, etc).. ended her up with the right person. She really thought she had to hide and control every part of her fame in order to keep and have a happy relationship - it was the only way someone would love or accept someone like her. Her job is not her entire identity, but, it is a large enough part of her that it is nice she can be fully herself and Taylor Swift (TM) and see her partner appreciate and recognize her for everything she is.

The story about your Grandmother was so touching. I have a feeling you’d have a connection with Taylor’s song “Majorie” from Evermore which is about her Grandmother. I know it means a lot to me that song. It reminds me of my love for my Grandmothers.

I remember one of my first recommendations for you was to listen to Ronan and Soon You'll Get Better because, to paraphrase myself, I wanted to "see you suffer (in a good way)." You ended up reacting to Ronan and The Best Day instead which, in hindsight, was a better starting point for songs about Taylor's family, but you were THIS CLOSE to listening to those two songs together and I'm 90% sure you would've balled your eyes out

My granny passed away when I was a baby. She passed from cancer and was in hospice too. My momma told me she was really sick when I was born and held off until my first birthday. She passed a month after I turned 1. My momma says she’s my guardian angel (she named me and bought stuff for me for when I turned 13 and I still have all of it and treasure it everyday) ❤ Unfortunately cancer runs in my family and so far my granny, my aunt, and my momma have all had cancer. Thankfully my aunt and momma beat it but that lingers over everyones heads

My grandmother passed in 2017 from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Easter was the last holiday she was here. Her birthday was that Wednesday, she went to the doctors on Thursday and got diagnosed, and she passed 2 1\2 weeks later. She was my best friend. We'd talk almost every week on the phone, every birthday all of us grandkids knew not to answer her call when she'd call because she'd sing happy birthday to us on the answering machine. That first birthday after she passed was horrible. She is still around, there are so many signs that prove that. ❤

This isn’t a story about cancer, though I have those. This is a story about my eldest cat, Lizzie. I had to put her to sleep this morning. We believe she was 17, maybe 18. I’d had her for 15.5 years. She was with me as I moved states for schools and work. My mom got her for me, and Lizzie was there for me when Mom died. She had a lot of medical problems, and could be difficult thanks to her dementia, but she just desperately wanted cuddles. Snuggles. All the time. I’m heartbroken. I miss her terribly.

Sadly, Mom diagnosed with cancer. Been up and down, at first (about a month ago) the doctors said it was basically "Stage 0" non-invasive and just a removal surgery, a little radiation, 92% success. But then, tested the healthy cells and discovered invasive. This was only a week ago. Now a second surgery scheduled. It's been... chaotic, hard, love my mother but she has some mental issues that makes getting her to things responsibly very hard, espeially since she doesn't take her medications and her mental issues get worse. Anyhow, I can't listen to "soon you'll get better" either. It would be the only Taylor Swiftie reaction of yours I'd have to fast forward through. I'm not religious either (mom is though), but all I can do is wait and try to be there for her since dad passed away 2 years ago. It's been rough, but I'm thankful for the few friends I have, a sister that helps so much, and your channel and the community of Swifties as a whole that really helps - in support, distraction, laughs, tears, and solidarity. Much love to you and yours Luke.

I'm sorry stuff has been so challenging lately. I get what you mean about some of her songs just hitting different tho. I was listening to my tears ricochet when i got the news a close friend of mine had died somewhat unexpectedly. the line 'i didn't have it in myself to go with grace' rly felt like they suited her down to a T too. Yeah that song will never not have that association now tbh. Hoping your mother can bounce back, from a cancer survivor myself.

I just want you to know that my prayers are with you for your grandmother you loved so much and for the things you endured growing up. In the past year I was diagnosed with PTSD at age 58 because of a person in my immediate family who I had to cut ties with due to continued mind games and toxicity. My parents were good parents and I loved them very much, but this other family member abused me emotionally my whole life and physically until I was out of high school. My brother took his life because of things he endured from the same family member just 2 years ago. I have also lost my mom, dad, and beloved pup in the last 6 years. The family I grew up with is all gone now. I am blessed that I have my grown son living near me and another pup I love so much. I'm telling you this because you said you want to believe in God. I would have never made it through all of that without Him. I grew up going to church as a Christian, but I never really got it until about 6 years ago. I found a great church with wonderful people who truly care about others. With a lot of therapy and this church family, I learned to love myself, grow in Christ, and know my worth. Every day is a work in progress, but I find Joy in everyday. I have seen God's miracles so many times in my life now and in the lives of people I love. I don't want to sound preachy or pushy. I just hope that one day you will give God a chance. He will show you who He is and His goodness and mercy. A few years ago I got baptized because I chose it this time even though I was baptized as a baby. It is now my choice to live loving others and doing good. Blessings to you and your beautiful family. I do love your channel and insights :)

When you describe your soul mate as being easy to be with I completely related to that. After many relationships and one marriage that I had to "work" at, and then finding my soulmate, I realized that those that say marriage is hard work or a relationship takes work, those people are not with their soulmate.

❣ You talking about love being easy. I think Taylor has that with Travis. But if you go back and listen to Rep and Lover where she is talking about Joe, you can hear the anxiety. Looking back on it now, you can see the red flags all along. I think that specifically about the Lover song. You can really hear the anxiety in that song.

Soon You'll Get Better - My grandpa was a lot like you described your gran. He was this level steady cowboy. He was a quiet man who didn't say a lot, but you knew he loved you. I didn't have a dad growing up, so he was my father figure. The person in this world I was closest to. If you asked anyone who ever met him, they would tell you how he welcomed you like family. Everyone always wanted to be with my grandparents. When he got sick, I watched this big strong man fade away. First his mind and then his body. I spent every day for three months by his side until he passed. Soon You'll Get Better came.out one month after he passed. I wrecked me and still to this day has me sobbing. Be prepared before you listen, but like Ronan and like you said, the people who pass deserve to be remembered and it is a truly beautiful song. On another note, your description of how Taylor's stalkers felt different. I think it is because she is so down to earth and human to her fans that the desensitization we feel with celebrities doesn't exist. It is like hearing that something happened to a stranger and thinking it is sad or horrible or scary, but it is separate. But with Taylor it is like finding out something happened to your neighbor. It hits close to home. Bad things happen in the world, but it isn't until they happen to you or someone you know or love that it really has an impact. Love every Taylor reaction. I literally recommend anything you can get your hands on, lol. For others I would love to see a reaction to, Gracie Abrams for sure. She has a lot of singles and EPs that are amazing, but I rarely see people react to. Her albums are great too, but I started following Gracie from those singles and EPs and would love to watch someone else take that journey as well.

My dad passed right after my 23rd birthday, and guiltily, I was relieved. He had been sick most of his life, but it didn't start to get really bad until a head injury my senior year of high school. He just kept getting worse. My mom, older brother, and I all took jobs in helping care for him. Now, when a loved one passes, I see it as a blessing, and it makes me feel cold, but after seeing my dad suffering for most of my life... I can't help it.

I find that some of the most beautiful people have had the hardest life. Yet, they are the first ones to truly be there for you. I think having had the type of childhood that I've had and so many of us have had allows us to be more empathetic towards others. I see this in you and I appreciate a man or person who has the emotional maturity to feel and be honest with others about themselves and views. I think that your Grand is extremely proud of you and the man, husband, and father that you've become. Wherever she may be I believe that. Thank you for letting us get to know you. Love to hear more about your beautiful wife also. 🥰

I can't imagine how Taylor felt when Kanye rolled up on her and stole her moment. Then, to have the mics shoved in her face with the media asking her how she feels? How tf do they think she feels?

i would love if you would react to Chappell Roan ❤ especially her music videos and live performances. I loved your Billie reactions and i requested more multiple times 😢 sad that it didn't get enough likes or comments on it. Billie is extremely popular and I'm sure you know your current audience better than me but tons of people react to her stuff on KZbin and she has a massive fan base so I'm shocked you decided it wasn't worth it to react on camera. Lots of people reacted to Billie's newest album, i got to see it in a theater experience it was such a great way to hear it. 💙

Thank you for sharing your story. I can't listen to Soon You'll Get Better without falling apart and sometimes can't listen at all. My life span will be limited due to a progressive, incurable disease. I have such sadness and guilt hearing Taylor sing about the emotions she had as she watched her mom battle cancer. I've had to have hard conversations with my kids...particularly my son, as he and I are incredibly close. I hate that I had to discuss last wishes with him and actively planning my celebrationof life ahead of time because I dont know how long I'll be on the planet. I'm grateful for all of Taylor's music, but mostly that one.

your thought 'imagine Taylors parents and reading that story'... ugh. SO true. And... My thought 'imagine being a size Large or XL and trying to be in that position'. The fat phobia in our country has a chokehold on us and Taylor didn't escape the pressure for awhile there, when she was really struggling with an eating disorder. I LITERALLY cannot imagine being a FRACTION of that famous, as anything but physically, culturally 'ideal'.

I’m not sure if this comment will reach you but I just want to say how much I appreciate you talking about your perspective on relationships. I’m currently going through a breakup from a long term relationship and none of it has been easy for the past year despite a lot of work and consistent effort. Hearing your take has really helped me, I’m sure I’m not alone in saying this but we do really appreciate hearing your thoughts about these videos and everything alike. Just wanted you to know it is appreciated and you’re helping people in ways you don’t probably realise ❤

I'm @ 27m in, and THANK YOU. I've maintained this since the Britney paparazzi mess. I always ask people who try to justify it, "and would you feel this way if a sculptor or painter was being treated this way solely because their art was more loved?" It's no different. Musicians are artists. Acting is performance art. Being a great artist does not mean that people are entitled to you and that stalking you should be legal solely because they're getting paid to stalk you with a camera. That's all paparazzi is - paid stalkers with cameras.

I honestly think there’s so many fans, even Swifties, that are over obsessed with, and give Swifties and fandoms in general bad names. It’s called simple respect, even for famous people.

In 2018, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 HER2+ Breast Cancer. My biggest fear was what would happen to my younger two children if I didn’t survive. Thankfully, after 3 and a half years of treatment, I was declared cancer free, my daughter, who is a huge Taylor Swift fan, would sit with me on chemo days when I came home, listening to Taylor Swift and doing her homework and fetching me ice blocks after every vomiting session.

I think a good thing to watch soon maybe after Journey to Fearless is the KZbin Presents Taylor Swift interview she did during Speak Now era. I really like it; there's plenty of interesting comments from Taylor but do remember it was a KZbin thing so a lot of the questions he asks are related to KZbin in some way

Year 4 of struggling through September because I lost both parents to cancer in September. My mom and I were best friends, like Taylor and her mom seem. September is such a beautiful month but I run myself ragged trying not to have enough time to think of it. I understand why Taylor doesn’t like to talk about it. I’m glad she still has her mom but I’ve never been so lost as the day I lost mine.

I loved your tangent. I love how emotional you are. I think mostly because i am not. The ONLY song that has EVER made tears come to my eyes the very first time i listened to it was Soon You’ll Get Better. My mom was 5 feet away from me. In a hospital bed. In my living room. bald from chemo. 105 pounds (47 kilograms). Nearly lifeless. So so far beyond the point of being able to say “soon you’ll get better” She passed away a year ago yesterday. I cannot listen to that song.
