The thing with Bradley's stone is that it gives him the Ultimate Eye but everything else is just him. He can't regenerate nor remain young forever, and his body is human so he doesn't have crazy endurance like say Pride or Sloth. So he's as close to a human as a homonculus can get and most of his prowess comes from his training and experience.

I think the stone does enhance Bradley's speed and reaction time. Nowhere near Flash level, but there are multiple times in the show where he moves faster than most people can process.

@captainkatsura26 I’m taking this info directly from my memory, so I might be wrong here. But if my memory serves me right, then the ultimate eye is basically like a sharingan. And I do not mean just like a sharingan, with all the abilities, I mean the better vision part of the eye. The ultimate eye gives Wrath better vision and better reflexes cause he can see even bullets moving. But the eye doesn’t strengthen his body. Like in Naruto, just because someone with a sharingan can see and attack or object approaching, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the character’s body can move out of its way. The power or strength of his body comes from the philosopher's stone that was injected in him

The reason Bradley can't regenerate like most of the other Homunculie is because he only has one soul inside his Philosopher Stone. When a Homunculus regenerates, he/she would use the souls inside their stone as a type fuel source. And if Bradley were to use his last soul. It would be the same thing as suicide.

I imagine that it might be theoretically possible for Bradley to regenerate to some extent, but only from minor injuries and at a significant cost. Edward was able to burn a portion of his own soul to at least temporarily repair a major internal injury in Baschool, at the cost of partially reducing his natural lifespan by a few years. Now, Bradley may not actually have this ability, and we've never seen it demonstrated, but I think it isn't unreasonable to imagine that he might be able to regenerate from any injury that a normal human body is capable of recovering from. He only has the one soul to spend, and the worse the injury, the more it would cost, so anything that would kill a normal person would be too much for him to regenerate from. Pretty sure that here in the finale is the first time we've ever actually seen something hurt him, and he is on the older side, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's just choosing not to burn the relatively small amount of lifeforce remaining in his philosopher's stone.

It was only mentioned a long time ago, so I'm not surprised you forgot, but when Ling introduced himself to Ed and Al, he told them he was not an alkehestrist. Unlike May, he can't use alkehestry to heal people (and neither Lan Fan nor Fu know it either). Honestly, I think rewatching in Japanese with your wife sounds like a fantastic idea! Hope you both enjoy the journey (again, in your case)!

13:28 Keep in mind that alchemy and alkahestry are sciences, that anyone can learn. They're not abilities that are given to you by some deity or something you're born with. Which means Ling and his folks could technically use alkahestry to heal people... if they learned how to. But they haven't learned alkahestry, so they can't. Last episode, when the gold-toothed doctor did his thing, you were like "Oh so he can use alchemy too?" As I just said, alchemy is a science, and so, in this world, it's not at all surprising that scientists and doctors would know how to use alchemy. That being said, people also specialize, so even if you know alchemy, you don't necessarily know everything about alchemy, which is why Dr. Marcoh doesn't know how to use alchemy for combat, and why Ed doesn't know Flame alchemy, for example.

It's amazing that FMA:B can make you feel so emotional for the death of Captain Buccaneer, a character that you'd be tempted to see as secondary or expandable in a lot of other shows. He was introduced late, and only as a subordinate to Olivier, and yet his death (and FUs) still hits like a truck.

on the topic of sub vs dub, while a majority of the time i can firmly say i prefer the subbed. i know that there are a few outstanding dubbed anime out there that deserve recognition and praise. Fullmetal Alchemist brotherhood is one of them. a few others i can really enjoy are Monster, cowboy bebop, trigun and even bleach is also pretty decent as well.

If you watch the opening, it's raining there which really shows the emotions of the characters and of us all too🥲 Also if you remember when Ling first appeared, he told Ed and Al that he's not an alchemist. So he can't do anything to heal anyone here.

Most villains start that way :D He definitely has sympathetic qualities, but it doesn't excuse his actions, it just makes him interesting :) I mean, Greed made the choice not to be a villain, so it's not innate in the homunculi.

Bradley's wounds don't heal up like the normal Homunculus' wounds do. It's also one of the reasons why he can age, too, unlike the others as well. There is a reason he's different, even from Greed/Ling.

Well, I don't think this would be considered a spoiler anymore but it is quite sad that not everyone in the cast is gonna make it to the show's finale. Victory has it's price and just like alchemy, it required sacrifices. Greed and Ling are awesome characters individually and together! They didn't lose their individuality but they did develop as people with each other (especially Greed). I already said it before but they're part of what I love about Brotherhood that wasn't in the 2003 anime. One more episode and you'd get to 60!

I think Ling and ninjas are from different clan. Mai's family might be one focused on allcahistory. the ninjas being trained to be ninjas and protect the royal family. and Ling seems to be focused on combat and diplomacy as he is on of the candidates to inherit the throne, with a caveat being 'bring back a a means of immortality to prove your worth'

The advantage of magic over normal people is just too vast for that to make any logical sense (and Arakawa is generally solid at avoiding such glaring issues with worldbuilding). Ling and his bodyguards can't use Alkahestry, but there are almost certainly many members of his clan that can.

The old woman at 14:55 's a guest appearance [visually speaking] of an Anime-Exclusive character from the 2003 run of the show! The manga similarly had a brief guest-star in a scene that was left out in Brotherhood (When Hawkeye aprehends Barry and calls Roy to come pick them up, she and Barry are literally just sitting there with Barry chatting like a dork and two of the 2003 characters are seen in the background, possibly drunk)

I'm sure people have already said this, but Mei is able to heal using Alkahestry because she's an Alkahestrist. I'm assuming this is because she and Ling are from different clans, and Mei's clan probably focused on healing more than Ling's clan did. However, if you remember from forever ago, Ling, and I can assume Lan Fan and Fu as well, aren't Alkahestrists, something that Ling stated in his first ever debut back in episode 15. So even if they wanted to help by healing Captain Buccaneer, they lack the knowledge of how, hence why Ling asked for a doctor who knew alchemy. And don't ever apologize for getting emotional!! It just means that you're passionate about the show ^^

I'm glad I finally got to see Buccaneer's death first hand now and how sad it was. When I read FMA as a teen there was a point I stopped and didn't come back for a few years. So not only did I miss his introduction, I only started reading again after he was already dead. So when I went back I was like "oh, hey. It's the dead guy. Guess I won't get attached!" Probably not specialized on healing alkahestry. Everything is emotional now!! The culmination of this great story is upon us and it’s all tough the process. Gosh, I love Roy and Riza ( They are my fav characters of FMA) and my thougths watching this were "Why, Hiromu? Why you did this to my fav characters?💔😔 You can see the terror on Mustang's eyes, not only bc he apreciates Riza, bc it's the first time he is that powerless, his partner needs him and can't do anything, what is worst He is Hawkeye's superior officer, he would feel very guilty if she die. What you asked about Ling Yao, He can't heal Fu bc he doesn't practice Alchaestry, the only one on Xing crew who practice it is May Chang. Bradley has good eyes from his Humunculus powers, but everything else is Bradley, the man, his speed, power, prowess, he can't regenerate like the others so has to rely only on his skill as a fighter to carry him through, Bradley pound for pound is the best fighter in this universe imo. Edit: Ling pleading for Fu's life gets the juices running for Hawkeye's "predicament", god damn this episode RIPs me every time :C. The crack in Mustang's voice when he screams 'I'll Kil you!' is gut wrenching.

When I left my comment about how I would put Scar at the top, I just meant that in terms of the people you specifically brought up. If we are speaking generally, then yes Bradley is the tippy top in raw strength and skill. Remember, Scar and Ed are having trouble against people who are considered failures when compared to Bradley. Also, the only thing Bradley got from the Philosopher's Stone was his Ultimate Eye. Remember, Bradley had to kill every other soul that was in the stone in order to survive the procedure, making it mostly useless. That is why Bradley can't regenerate like the other Homunculi can. So yeah, most of Bradley's strength is his own.

We can kind of infer how strong Bradley would be without the Philosophers Stone if we look at the "Leftover" Soldiers the Gold-Toothed Doctor used. They recieved the same training and even though there the same age, I'd say about 60-65 judging by the gray hair the others have, Bradley has even more power thanks to the regenrative abilities of the PS. but his Colegues definitly put up a very good fight, though I do think our Group was hampered by the fact that these men are, at the end of the day, human and no one in the group except maybe Hawkeye, was willing to kill and she was at a hard disadvantage, because Hand to hand and close combat is not her forte. But Ed doesn't kill on Principle, Mustang wantsto shed as little blood as possible and Scar hasn't killed since his talk with WInry.

My uess would be that the different Xingese Clans specialise differently. Lings Clan seems to have a specialty in Ninja Tactics, hit ans run, flashbombs, quick movements. Shao Mays Clan probabal specialises in this healing Alkahestry

No way to comfirm but i think alkahestry, especially the medical uses, is rarer than Amestrian alchemy. Father had a reason to make sure it was present in Amestria. Hohenheim was probably relunctant to teach it for at least awhile.

*Day 150* of recommending the *Beyblade openings* . There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!

The only downside to this dub is Vic Mignogna is Edward Elric. He does a good job, but im not a fan and im glad he's not in the space anymore. Good job or not, he's a bad guy. The rest of the cast is phenomenal. It's a very good dub.
