Agreed. I think anyone who is a True NF fan that takes what he says to heart is a better person for it. NF got the ball rolling but it's the fans that make it so great. NF fans are the most tight nit fan base of this day and age, and also the most understanding. It's this understanding and ability to look inwards at our own problems that elevate all of us.
@danrandall37722 жыл бұрын
@CreamintheCoffee Just your friendly neighborhood overthinker lol. Always have had a high empathy and been able to see things from different perspectives fairly easy. I'm constantly running scenarios through my head all day long, as in what would have happened if I said that differently or if I would have taken a different option or path. Almost like it's a chess game and I'm trying to see six moves ahead of myself but never quite getting there lol. I strive to make my demeanor as close to my nature as possible. While I know that it's an impossibility, I believe anyone who tries to "wear their heart on their sleeve, is a truly brave individual especially with keyboard warriors and people that only feel good about themselves when hating on others. I really feel for those people and hope they find the peace and understanding in their lives they so desperately need.

I don't drink either. When I was a teenager, I found out just how easily I could become a very serious alcoholic, as alcoholism runs in both sides of my family tree. People who drink have always made me nervous, and once a person gets drunk past a certain point I start to panic and have to stay away from them. That line has actually made me stop and sit down to think about the fact that I could have trauma buried from when I was a young child and family members drank heavily. I have known for years that my mind is repressing memories, and there are major chunks of time before I was 10 years old that are just missing. Years worth. This song rocked me down to my core.
@reneedisabatino36932 жыл бұрын
Wow i can completely relate to everything you said. Its like you were writing from my own experiences....crazy. I too can't remember much at all before the age of 10. My parents divorced at age 12 but before that they both drank heavily and my father was abusive to my mom so there are some traumatic experiences that i do remember but nothing before age 10. I love being an NF fan so much. The connection we all share through Nates lyrics bond us toghether like no other. #RMTTDWD🖤

I've never touched a drink. It's odd that it has to be so hard to admit that. But perhaps it's because we're scared that those we admit it to will see through us and find our reasons behind it. This is one of my favorite songs of his, perhaps because I had to talk to my younger self as well as part of therapy. Childhood trauma comes forth later in life, but it isn't the current you who feels it, it's the child inside of you. That's why he tells his younger self tht he's there for him. I appreciate heartfelt reactions, so thank you for being earnest!

Almost 22k subscribers now 😯.... That comment about not changing anything in your past because it would change things that you have in your present. Spot on, man. I say that same thing to my wife. I had a DUI in 2002 and all of the problems associated with that. Had friends selling drugs and even robbed for them. I got caught up in some drug use outside of the drinking and smoking weed regularly, but those things got me to embrace Jesus and turn from the lifestyle I had been embracing. Now I've been married for 15 years and have the two son's.

So this song came about when Nate was in an intense treatment center that he checked himself into immediately after The Search Tour. They had him do an exercise where he had to sit in a room and talk to his younger self. Hate myself us heavier and still saying Let Me Go will be the song that gets you. Keep being open, with Nate it takes mire effort to not feel when you react to Nate then it does to allow you to just sit with your own feelings and reflections.

I can’t remember if I gave you this warning ⚠️?The toughest song on album is “Hate Myself”, and you need to do the “interlude” song with it! But I personally believe it’s Nat’s bottoming out song. A song he probably wrote out of his own professional therapy, which supposedly began before The Search. Some one can clarify it.

When I put this song on my Facebook, I said it could easily be titled “Dave”. Over half of this song is me I feel. I don’t drink either. I had one shot on my 21st birthday. (Legal drinking age) I am crazy without it lol. Also, I know myself and I get addicted to stuff way too easily. If I like it, I will spend lots of money on it and it will be all I want. Safer to just not start.

Yeah funny thing about how addiction has affected my life, is that growing up my father was an alcoholic & I didn’t have a close relationship with him like I did my mother. They separated when I was 9 & until I was 15 (almost 16) I didn’t have a relationship with him, but he got clean during that time frame. But during those years my mom was (& still is) in a relationship with a man that I call my stepdad (but their not married, but been together almost 20years so basically married I guess lol) but he’s struggled with alcohol off & on, so at 16 I had enough & abruptly moved in with my dad. Our relationship was better until just recently (but that’s a different story) So I have never been a fan of alcohol & promised myself I’d never be with someone who drank because I couldn’t handle how alcohol changes peoples personality. & I thank god I was able to see that promise to myself through, because my husband isn’t a fan of alcohol either. But ironically enough we’ve both have struggled with pills (opiates & benzos) but we’ve been doing so much better in the past few years than we ever have & it’s weird how I couldn’t handle alcohol but pills was a different story for me, idk but addiction suck but I’m thankful that I’m not the person I once was!

We all wish we could reap the benefit of our own experiences, told to us by our older, wiser self. Same with the drinking. I had started getting into heavier drugs when I had a "religious" experience. Well, it was really one of many, but this particular experience was my deliverance from ALL of it. Just like that... God really freed me and I just can't bring myself to even dabble in it again. I generally just tell people it's because of all the family that are addicted to it because people will accept that with no judgement. Tell them God did it and they usually get judgy. Lol. Anyway! As you say, enough of my waffling bullocks.

a banger video as always, also thank you so much for being honest and open about yourself and your issues, I know it can be hard to do that kind of stuff so I admire your bravery. Although there are people and issues that may push you to stay closed off I hope you know that the true supporter's will always be here to listen and learn from your experience's. I find myself once again relating to Nate and you by extension. I know it isn't the safest idea to share this and I usually never have been this honest in comment sections before but I trust that this is a safe place so, all I'll say is this. When I was young my father died of drug and alcohol abuse because he got stage 4 liver cancer from it. My reason to share this isn't just to honor my word of being open but to also hopefully reinforce that you aren't alone, and myself along with tons of other on this channel appreciate these videos more than you'll ever know. So with that said, again great video, I was really excited for this one along with some others so I'm happy you finally got to it, and have a spectacular day.

I loved seeing your input on this one. I knew it would be a hard one, but man it's good. I don't think I've ever seen an artist who can make a song that hits deep or meaningful topics and pair it with a slapping beat quite like NF. I know your Time video is probably all done, but I would recommend having the wife watch the video ahead of you and giving her comments (spoiler-free, of course) prior to you watching. It's a great couples song that I frequently use in counseling to highlight the power of working through relational challenges.

There just really isn't anyone quite like Nate. And it is indeed done, it's hard to find time to make videos with my wife as we are both very busy so that's why we limit it to one a week, like I say hopefully this becomes a job one day and that'll change. Does anyone care? Written By Jeremy James Barnes All this pain is driving me insane! All this pain is hitting me like a heavy rain! Some days I never what to give up. Other days like, today when it hurts to live, hurts to breathe, I cry and just want to die! Does anyone else feel that way? Or is it just me? Does anyone know how I feel? I feel like I'm drowning and running out of air! I want to scream and rip out my hair! I feel like shedding a thousand tears! I wonder if anyone cares? My poems and songs are about all my hopes and fears. Everything I've lived through my whole life over all these years. Trying, crying and looking for anything big or small. Any reason not to give up on it all. Yeah sometimes I can act like a dope. That don't change the fact I'm starting to lose all hope. Does anyone care I'm at the end of my rope? Does anyone care? I think the answer is nope!
