Hey Bob , where I work we lay a reflective red on the aluminum then cut the STOP in white reflective along with the 8 strips on our gerber . We don’t have to do a lot of them per year. Thanks for showing another approach.

Excellent video! I made STOP signs like this for a while, and varied anywhere from 4 inches to 18 inches. I would sell them on Ebay, and they were given good reviews.

In Wisconsin it's common to mount a "do not enter" sign on back of a stop sign particularly when a one way turns into a two way at an intersection. They have to cut the "do not enter" sign so you can see the octagonal shape of the "stop" sign

Why do you pull the sheeting back before you put it in the roller? We typically put it in the roller,peel it back and fold he backing under itself. We line it up before we let the top roller down

It’s just my style. I find it easier to make sure I get the entire blank covered. It would be like I put on my right sock then my right shoe. Then the same with the left foot. Both socks and shoes get on the correct way. The same with the sign blank getting covered. I also do the way you do as well often as well. Sometimes I find it harder to reach over the roller.

@@BobTheSignMan that’s cool. We don’t have as long as table in front of the roller as you have. So it is easier to stand in front of the roller and line it up.

@@gregsummerlot3745 I’ve been trying to find the roller with a hand crank roller. The other tables are pricey so seeing if that style was a bit cheaper to present to where I work. I work for a airport sign shop and I’m usually the only one laying signs of all sizes. Thanks

Is that holographic vinyl? What's the one underneath the red one?

The white sheeting is DG3 from 3M. It is a reflective material that reflects light, such as headlights. The red material is E/C film, also from 3M. It is transparent and let the white sheeting appear as red.

It's not his material to sell. The county owns the material, its his job to use it. That'd be like if a guy that plowed your street for the city sold you salt for your driveway.

We would never make stop signs at the city i work for, we go through way too many stop signs to have to make every one of them. We buy 30x30 and 36x36 stop signs in bulk once a year.

I only have 374 stop signs in the entire County. I don't replace many of them each year. I average about 25 to 30 replaced each year.
