You know, Ed's character arc could've been prevented if they'd just LISTENED to him. He clearly had trouble communicating. He could recite information but had trouble expressing his own ideas. His solution? All answers must be in the form of a question. I mean, think about it. Think about his personality, his style of killing, even his NAME. Look at his crimes. He's loud, he's flamboyant, his kills are public. It's all a way of saying "DO I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION NOW?" And the icing on the cake? If you solve the riddle, you get to live. It's not just a calling card or a theme. He forces you to listen carefully, forces you to do what Harvey Bullock never did, forces you to SOLVE THE RIDDLE. All he wants is to be heard, to feel important and understood. And if they had taken the time to listen in the beginning, none of this might've happened at all. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

This is honestly beautiful. The part where they're all laughing and when Ed realizes that people think what he is doing is bad really hurt it just made me feel something really sad. I like how this is more about the mental and emotional struggles they go through. 🙂

Wow I love this video! I have never seen this perspective of Gotham before and I love it. It is incredible how you managed to analyse this details and put them all together and they fit perfectly. I love this “mentally ill” theme. I do believe most of them have mental issues.
