@CellarDoor-rt8tt3 жыл бұрын
@@buddermonger2000 the move 0-0-0 in chess notation means castles Queen side and, much like adding a + on the end of a move means check. Adding # on the end of a move means checkmate. I wish I had the full game (this was over-the-board almost 10 years ago), but I once played a game in which I was completely winning 20 moves in, got impatient and blundered every piece except my Queen and a couple pawns (I was -20ish on material), but somehow I managed to start checking my opponent with my Queen again while avoiding threats from both his Queens and his Rook. My opponent saw no problem with getting checked because he was walking his King down to take my pawn on a4 anyway, and I won with the pawn on a4, the enemy King on a5 and my Queen on b5.

Since chess engines have got significantly stronger than when this video was uploaded, there are actually some positions that were incorrectly evaluated in the game: 2:50: c3 is actually a losing move, not equal like the evaluation bar was saying. Since White's king is so weak in the middle of the board, Black can play d5 and you can't actually defend the king without sacrificing material. You can also play Rf8 to attack the knight and eventually the center of the board. d5 is about -3.5 in favor of black, while Rf8 is about -2.7. 3:48 Kxe4 was the move that was eventually seen later in the game as losing for White. It is actually best to play d5 now rather than play Qh4, because when Black plays Qh4 you can move the king to d3 instead of e3. When you move to d3, you can run away to c2 where you will be much more safe. 4:54: This probably wasn't missed by Levy, but you can also play Qf2 in this position to threaten some discovered checks with the knight. 7:00: I had Stockfish search for a bit and it is actually M10. The line is a5 Qg4 Bxg4 Kxd4 Qf2+ Kd3 Bf5+ Ne4 Rxd5+ Kc2 Rxe5 b3 Bxe4+ Kd1 Rxe4 b3 Qe2+ Kc2 Ra4+ Kc3 Qd3+ Kb2 Qc2# 9:03: Nc6 is actually not 0.00, it is about -1.76, in favor for Black. I am not sure if Levy would find it more brilliant, but the better move in this position is to play Qg4 instead of Qa4. The problem with Qa4 is that, just like in the actual game, it allows Black to attack the king and knight with Qe7. Qg4 does pretty much the exact same thing as Qa4 only without giving Black attacking chances. 11:20: Qc4 isn't a bad move, but Qa6 is just a simple fork to win the knight. 11:32: Ka4 actually gives a drawing position. You could see the evaluation bar drop, but it wasn’t able to reach 0. The move is drawing because after Bd7+, Ka4, and Nc6 like played in the game, the king is actually stuck. When the king moves forward, you can play Nb8, and you can’t take the pawn. You can’t take it because after Qd6 you are stuck in the corner and you are getting checkmated in 4 moves. When you go back, the knight simply returns to c6. If you decide not to go forward and instead go backward, The knight can still give a repetition of moves like described by Levy in the video. 14:05: There is actually a very savage move here that White missed to keep advantage. You can play Re1, and after Qxe1 you can sacrifice the pawn with c7+. You can't take, because Bf4 wins the knight. You can also just play Bf4, but sacrifice the pawn and rook is so much more savage.
