Levy, I think what this series lacks is Twitch chat. Your first 7 or 8 episodes of htwac (and other series like 1.e4/1.d4) had that comic relief from the chat, while providing instructional information, combining teaching with joy. That’s what keeps people on the screens, increasing watch time. The energy in those vids is top-notch - no mumbling around when waiting for your opponents to move, there is always a topic to discuss, and chat never fails to generate something random, which .is. entertaining. I hope this catches your eye, as I don’t want this series to be gone again due to communities inactivity

I watched about 4 hours of your content before trying chess for the first time since I was a child last week. And I came into that game too confident. I thought since I have been studying I was in a better odds. I lost my first match and immediately got humbled. I've gotten a little bit better since last week and won several matches. But again, I want to say thank you for not making me feel like an idiot while learning.

Hello Gotham, my favorite channel of all time, i am a long time viewer of your channel i first got into chess a little over 5 years ago when my brother introduced me to the game the biggest struggle i face is finding those sort of tricky tactics where if you take my knight i take your pawn with a discovered attack on your queen while also attacking your rook and it's check. Nothing I'm speaking on in particular I'm just giving you a reference and i was wondering how you just set those up from a position. Hope to get a response!😅

5:15 if it was white to move knight d5 is a tactic or not ? (900 elo asking)
@Andustan454
@Andustan454 7 ай бұрын
I mean… well, if black went something like a6, Nd5 by white would be the best move. If after Nd5 black took the queen, there is a tactic Nxe7+. King moves, white recaptures the queen and the knight on e7 can either take the free pawn and escape or trade itself for the bishop (basically it isnt getting trapped). If after Nd5 black goes Qd8, defeding the bishop, white would do Nxe7+ anyway because after black goes Qxe7, white puts a lot of pressure on black with something like Nd4 (pawn is hanging, knight pinned to the Queen, bishop on f5 hanging thanks to another tactic…). There is just a lot of pressure on black and white has a better position, so yes, if it was white’s move, it would be a tactic :)

4:56 white had Nd5 the black queen is hanging and if black trade queens , first knight takes bishop than take back the queen I'm I right?

After Nd5 black had Bd8 defending the queen. After that two of white’s pieces are hanging which is a headache but white can go Ne7+, trade off some pieces and survive. The position is roughly equal (white being a touch better) after that

Hi. 600 rating here. I know I'm maybe a noob to some of you. Can someone explain why does levy play "on lower lvl"?? Is it because f.e. 2500 strats doesn't work on 1800?
