From the perspective of a spectator, these moves look so simple to see when you understand them but from a blind position, Magnus being able to maneuver his pieces and shred open positions and be feared for that is truly astonishing. His level of mastery is truly on a different level.

The world champion in 2023, Ding, loses so many games just in the world championship. Blunder so many times. And the former world champion, Magnus, is undefeated in 2 years, demolishing everyone, including Ding and Ian. The skills difference, the quality of chess of these two champion is huge. I don’t think Ding can avoid losing one classical chess per month. Magnus is really the goat.

I hear a lot about how Fischer's performance at the Candidate's is the most amazing feat ever in chess. This feat by Magnus surpasses that and laps it several times to me. Magnus had the entire world gunning for him, analyzing his every move to find an edge somewhere. Yes he has access to engines to, but that just makes it a level playing field. 125 games without losing. That's so far past sweeping the Candidate's against Taimonov, Larsen and Petrosian IMO, because Magnus was playing against Candidate's level players that whole time.
