Seeing themselves as "empaths" is a way too boost their self-eestem or overcompensate something which they are lacking. No grudges. Everyone has his/ her problems, but thinking of oneself as an "empath" is quite often sign of the opposite. It sounds grandious. See someone who has a high IQ isn't very likeable if he/ she feels the need to boast about it all the time, but it isnt contradictory as insecurity or arrogance are both compatible with high intelligence. However someone boasting about how supremely empathetic they are isnt only not likeable its contradictory to the image they want to project of themselves as if you were really highly emotionally sensitive you would have seen the problem and never thought of putting a label on yourself called "empath".

There's often a bunch of things you could do, like cutting the king off, or attacking the pawn chain from the back, or getting a piece to a better spot. @@Yohanan1030 He doesn't have to go into every detail. There's plenty of stuff he could explain to each level of player that would be usefull to them. Can never wrap my mind around the fact he has the same exact pieces as me but its like he's playing a different game altogether.

The MVL-Carlsen Sicilian line is top line of the engine with a few move order tweaks it isn’t niche !

All these games illustrate the same point: the power of passed pawns

I was watching this video with my sister sleeping next to me, and when she woke up she told me she dreamed about Magnus, you being in a private school and even a bishop and a pawn blocking the knight like in the Alireza game. You make chess so interesting that even if it's another language and even if people are sleeping, they will still hear you. A big hug from Italy❣️🇮🇹

Yo gotham, you're prolly not gonna see this but you've been a huge help to my chess skills, I was 1st in my first ever tournament. most of it was for your help thank you, really.

How savage would that be if Magnus made it into the Candidates next time it takes place and won his title back from whoever wins it this time. Provided, of course, Fide allows him to become a world champion again :)

It's most likely to happen ☠️

If he's not motivated enough to prepare for the WCC match why would he do this to himself again?
@hypnoticlizard96932 жыл бұрын
@@al_gusto Magnus should just win the candidates because its a more fun tournament than the actual wc match and then not play wc lol-
@alexband72072 жыл бұрын
@@al_gusto Idk, it just seems like a very Magnus thing to do. To make that sort of a statement. "If i want it i can take it back, because I'm the GOAT". Maybe he's not motivated to defend his title now. But perhaps he could be motivated to do this. Besides he's not quitting chess, he still wants to get to 2900, so he's going to have to play these guys anyway

When others think that they reached Magnus level then Magnus goes up beyond unreacheable for other human level. He just understand chess like no one else before.

3:10 26. Ng4 was a mistake because of 26. ... Ne4! Not the best example of cold blooded calculation.

To me, this recalls the memory of playing my father as a kid. Always trying to play very solid, theory like moves I wasn´t really sure of at the time. But he would crush me like a bug the same way Carlsen crushes here. I guess it was by being passive at that time (I didn´t know what to play) and not attacking which I do a whole lot nowadays. Iˇve beaten him recently in a Scandinavian defense where he slightly miscoordinated his pieces in the opening (or I thought he did) and i somehow got down a piece but came up with a knight fork out of nowhere winning my rook back because how his king was placed. That is why you should always play your own style of chess. Like I only play my own variations that I can understand in like Center game or Caro -kann and not some Ruy Lopez I don´t resemble that much about. Because you know when you play something deep with a lot of understanding, there´s gonna be someone who knows even more than you do. And that is I think the lesson here. I wonder how many people found out about chess the same way i did playing against my dad. Just my sincere opinion.

So I guess you could say Magnus is a... (shotgun pump sound effect) master baiter. (Duke Nukem theme)

It feels like Magnus plays in a style of a computer
@sub.consciousnz13122 жыл бұрын
the thing with chess is that there are objectively best moves
@JimmyBoosterCrate2 жыл бұрын
That's simply because Magnus is the closest thing there is to a computer
@deadded57932 жыл бұрын
@@sub.consciousnz1312 i agree. Its just that he always finds them. Moves with long-term pressure and control of important squares, rather then going for a tactic. He is a master of strategy and it feels very abstract.

Sir, your passion and analysis had me doubly enjoy the video!! You are very entertaining chess reader and I respect your dedication!! Thanks Levy, love and hugs from Iraq!! Just want to add that currently Magnus is the only player who can play like a virtual chess engine but still doesnt lose his unique ability on the board as a human, yes that is why he is my all time favourite chess player despite my mighty admiration for Tal, Capablanca and Karpov
