I don't like the way castling works in freestyle chess. Instead of having the end result of the castling be that the king and rook end up on the squares they would normally end up on, it should just be that the king moves two squares towards the rook and the rook moves to the other side of the king. Instead of the end result being normal, the function should be normal.

I really hate that castling mechanic; the king and rook just teleport all over the board. I'd have preferred the "both pieces move towards and pass each other, with the king moving one space longer, if there's an uneven number of spaces". So in the first situation, the white king would have ended up on e8 and the rook on f8, rather than c8 and d8. Both pieces moved in the same direction, fer crissakes!

And it's not 40320 -- it's 960, due to those limitations that the bishops be on opposite colors and the king between the rooks. one way to break it down: 4 possibilities for light square bishop * 4 possibilities for dark square bishop * 6 possibilities remaining for the queen * 5 possibilities for the first knight * 4 possibilities for the second knight / 2 because we just double-counted the knight arrangements because if you swap the knights it's the same. With those five pieces placed, the rooks go on the outer of the two remaining positions and the king on the middle one. the math works out that 4*4*6*5*4/2 is 960. Which he says in the video in the very next sentence, I might add.
