@@jansnauwaert1785 Skill in playing chess is near orthogonal to skill in presenting chess. He is the quintessential analysis presenter. It's fine if you don't like pure analysis--since you prefer Levy it's pretty clear you want more commentary. Hikaru initially drew me to the chess community. But Levy is why I stayed over the past 6 months. He is a down to Earth human-being, humorous, and frankly a challenge to others pushing run-of-the-mill videos in the chess community. He addresses it from a level of depth that the beginner player can quickly pick up on and reference, due to a high-level of rapport and people skills. And I always catch myself grinning at his brand of exaggerated and recurring comedic themes (even occasionally a "hahahaha", etc.) Love ya man, thanks for helping me get through the past year, I went back to college! I only wished I would have been here and taking chess up sooner.

Big time. Many said his ego cost him this. Even Gary admitted that was one of his weaknesses, and he learned that the hard way. He did not know enough about the Berlin yet still kept trying to beat it, mostly over the board, while Kramnik had done extensive analysis. Gary was so dominating and above everyone else by so much in 2000 that he thought he could get away with anything. Kramnik playing AMAZING in this match, and had some of the best prep ever, and playing the best chess he ever did. Very shocking match, but it happened.
