Winter Skincare Routine - Day 1 : Dryness & Dehydration

Doing something a little different with my Winter Skincare Routine. Since I've always said that my routines vary according to my daily skin condition, rather than show you a baseline routine and try to explain the variances that might exist, I figured I'd do a routine vlog of sorts. This will show you what I do over a stretch of 5 days so you can see when I include actives, how I alternate them, devices etc.
Day 1 is my relaxed, everyday Winter-dry skin routine when I'm not really going out or wearing makeup.
As I mention in the video, this isn't a tutorial, this is just what I do and what works for me which comes from a lifetime of experimenting to find what works and skintuition. I hope you enjoy though! 💋 #skincareroutine

I have radiator heat in my NYC apt that's controlled by the building so my skin is really dry in the winter and the Laneige Cream Skin Mist has become my go to. I just bought it abt 2 weeks ago and I'm already halfway finished. I spray it on throughout the day and it's really been a hero product for me, especially as we're inside so much now.

Thank you for a great video! I, too, have dehydrated skin, so I look forward to your informative videos. Recently, I've been getting tight and dry by mid-afternoon and have been looking for a mist. Is it ok to mist at this time? Or will doing so make me feel even drier? Do I need to seal it in with a moisturizer? So confused -Help! LOL

Hi. I mist in the afternoon too. Super dehydrated. I find it depends on your mist if skin gets drier. For sure with the Laniege cream skin mist you get hydrated and don’t need moisturizer over it. I bought the non mist bottle by accident and decanted it into a mist bottle. Lots of people talking about the Sioris time is running out mist but I haven’t tried it. Not sure your skin type but mine is dry & dehydrated. Good luck! I hope you find something your skin will love.

Hi there are four things you really need and everything else is nice to have, but not essential: cleanser, moisturiser, retinoid or other main active and sunscreen. Toners, essences, serums and eye creams are not essential if you pick a good moisturiser and apply onto damp skin (you can use your moisturiser around the eyes as well as neck/chest). I buy fairly affordable products and a tretinoin prescription - that's how I have streamlined to stick to budget. I make sure my products are gentle and fragrance free as I have sensitive skin. I hope that helps.

CAIS is back in stock in the large size! 🙌🏻 Also just wondering about applying your oils UNDER some other hydrators as I was always taught oils come very last to seal everything in. Besides the fact that they are so occlusive that anything you put on afterwards won’t actually sink in or benefit you bc it’s basically blocked by the oil. So, now I’m confused! 🤔🤪

It doesn't matter, I personally think it works better to use oil first because it does absorb. This idea that an oil serum is inpenetrable is not even scientifically accurate, and we have oil and lipids in our own skin makeup. Most oils will absorb except obviously the very thick ones like coconut oil or mineral oils so it's important to choose the right blend for your skin condition. If anything, moisturizers have film formers which create a film on the skin after it dries down to keep hydration in. hope that helps! And waiting patiently for my CAIS!!
