My 16 year old daughter caught you after your Gothic Homemaking panel at DragonCon to talk to you about her struggles and thank you for what you have done for her without ever knowing. I just wanted to thank you so much for talking with her. You helped her find purpose in her life and to know she wasn't alone as she felt she was. Thank you so much.

@@PhoenixsArt I have found from experience (as I am a stubborn child of my parents) that the parents will try to high heaven and hell but sometimes it takes a friend, a stranger, or another trusted adult for things to click. I have Autism Spectrum Disorder, and it takes me years to get something down, that a normal almost 10 year old has nailed or is learning. Just recently a very good friend of mine came over and helped me clean out and organize the space under my bed. My parents tried and tried but it took her, knowing how to talk to me, considering that her own younger brother is Nurodivergent as well, to get me to get rid of things I didn't need. I am now down to under my desk and my nightstand to clean out and organize before my room is completely cleaned. Voltaire is also a major influence as well. His series here on KZbin really helped me clean out clutter and really consider what I really need for my "lair". I will honestly admit to talking to myself as if Voltaire and I were on a gothic homemaking hunt. That is how much his videos have helped me, I am actually trying to avoid plastics in regards to knick knacks. So summarize, my point is, parents do try to help their kids but sometimes it takes someone who isn't the parents to help the message sink in.

A tip for you Voltaire. Put "Gothic homemaking presents" at the end of the title instead of first. New viewers are much more likely to click on your video if it's advertised as a video about a thing (Behind the scenes, makeup, unboxing, tutorial etc) firstly and as a part of a series secondly.
@Daystar3116 жыл бұрын
I always look forward to your Gothic homemaking videos! I do have a suggestion for your candy dish, if you still wanted to change it. You could paint it in a black enamel and let it fully dry for a day or two, depending on your humidity. After it's completely dry, use the same kind of paint to lightly dry brush it with a bit of silver, or the color of your choice. I think it would look great as a landing spot for your rings, bracelets, gloves, sitting on your dresser or dressing table. Love your place. Would you ever consider doing a tour?

Was that Alchemy Gothic skull supposed to have 2 fangs instead of one? Maybe it fell as you were getting it out? Btw, your makeup is especially on point in this video! 🖤🖤🖤

I grew up in a pretty old house that had a sealed off attic. The entrance, of course, was in my closet for some reason. Once we started living in the house I started hearing chirping noises in the ceiling. My mom thought the neighbor’s cat had found a way into the ceiling and had her babies there. Imagine my surprise when I learned that we had bats living in our attic. They really kept the mosquitoes off our property and I got to watch them flying outside my window at night. One of the few things I miss about that place. I hated that house btw and I will never go back.

I had a lot of fun at the Sinister Creature convention. At first I wasn't going to go to the convention just your show because I am not a big fan of horror movies. That and I didn't know anyone on the panels. However, I saw all the artists booths taking part and decided it was worth going. So glad that I did I got to meet a lot of amazing people and to meet you again.

That dish is gorgeous! Maybe just a dry brushing with some matte black to help bring out the details more? I don't know if you've tried it yet, but the Stuart Semple Black 2.0 paint has become a staple for me. I can't seem to work without it. It also looks great stenciled over a glossy black. It's a bit more expensive, but you don't need as much so it evens out. EDIT: and I just contacted Crude Inc about a Vincent Price piece =) I blame you for my spending habits sometimes *L*

All these great things from Sinister Creature Con have me so hyped to go this October! I'll be a vendor, but I always have at least one person with me to help run the booth so we can both take some time to walk around and see what other people have at their booths. It's going to be hard not to spend all the money we make right away at the con! For anyone who's been there as a vendor, how likely are trades? XD I've been to a few conventions where vendors were willing to barter goods back and forth before doors opened to the public!
@TheLairofVoltaire5 жыл бұрын
I don't know. I've never traded items as I suspect vendors will want cash to cover the booth cost, gas, lodging, etc. I just buy stuff outright if I can afford it. It's a great convention with very nice people. I hope you have a great time!

Aurelio, The Artwork of The Couple of Frankenstein and Frankenstein’s Bride would look AWESOME in separate Black Oval shaped Frames but facing Each Other looking at The Other. Just a decor tip if You are interested in it. Anyway, Man, does that guy make Some Beautiful Movie Memorabilia!!! I love it!!! I would really love to commission a Photo of The Original Dracula, Bella Lagosi. He just was it!!! In my book, The Most Handsome, Elegant and European Royalty Class!!! I watched the either late 80s or 90s Documentary that His Som did about Him and He was an Awesome Man in real life also. He seemed to have been strict but an also Very Loving Father too. Anyway, sorry for My tangent. I just thought that I may make a suggestion for Your Beautiful Artwork. Keep On Rocking. I love Your music and The Lair of Voltaire. 😊👍🏼❤️💕👋🏼🧛♀️🧛🏻♂️👳🏼♂️🎃

Everything is gorgeous! Also, don't worry, your Frankenstein's Monster and His Bride adds to your Lair and not make it look like a teenaged goth's bedroom or a movie fan's bedroom. 😊

That's what I was thinking. One gold tooth makes sense for a pirate but not a vampire skull.
