I think that the only Biblical conviction of sin is that we see ourselves as beyond repair. So yes, conviction of sin will never be of one single sin, but that we are plagued with sin from birth, coming to us from Adam. It's irreparable and so requires the pure Grace of God to make us righteous.

The holy Spirit convicts us once into repentance. 1 The Holy Spirit opens the hearts of God’s elect to show them the truth of Jesus. “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5). 2. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin. “And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment” (John 16:8). 3. The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to God’s people to edify the church. “All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills” (1 Cor. 12:11). 8. The Holy Spirit guides God’s people. “While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them’” (Acts 13:2). “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil” (Matthew 4:1). 9. The Holy Spirit empowers God’s people for ministry. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). 10. The Holy Spirit intercedes for God’s people. “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27).

Where in the NT it’s says HolySpirit convicts the believers when they sin? All I can See in NT, before we believed in the Lord we convicted to repentance. (John16:8-9)

@@justinbeal8122 Hello I think conviction is what you believe is right or wrong. You know that the sexual thought is wrong, so I believe that is conviction. Feelings are important but it's not the thing we rely on to know right and wrong. I'm not entirely sure your context on sexual thought, like if we dwell on it for the pleasure that's bad, but if we try to flee as soon as we realize what we're doing, that's what we should aim for. But the lack of feeling probably shows us where our hearts are. I find when I'm further away from God, I feel less sorrow for sin. When I'm closer, my heart actually hurts if I sin, I also feel love for God and see more clearly/from a bigger perspective. Basically I'm just trying to say we should examine where our heart is when we don't feel that much about Him, if we really see God's love for us.

Conviction is when you do wrong,and then felt bothered and then wanting to repent right? (I hope yes). For example If I cheat in a test in school and then I felt bothered and then felt wanting to repent and repented is that conviction? (I hope yes)

The Holy Spirit doesn't convict believers of sin but there righteousness . Because when we sin we are doing contrary of who we are which is the righteousness of Christ. The devil who Accuses us day and night convict us , declares us guilty . Remember who you are and know that sin has no power or dominion over you and death has no grip of you (Spiritual death). Because of the finished work of Christ. Yes let's see sin hiw God sees it and repent (do a 180) change your mind . And know who you are in Christ. Sin doesn't fit you as a believer and there's no fulfillment or satisfaction in it. Say yes to Jesus and no to the ways if this world (: walk by the Spirit. Not striving for perfection but because he is perfect and finished the work for us.

Next, JESUS clearly said, that the world, read John 14:17 cannot receive, nor get to know the spirit of the truth. You are following Christianity, which is a lie, Jesus never said anything about sending any holy spirit. Jesus said, speaking of The Parakletos, whom is another man like JESUS, he said; when he, The Parakletos comes, he, The Parakletos will convict with evidence the world, not xtians, but the world, remember when JESUS said;YOU ARE NOT OF THE WORLD, so Jesus cannot be saying that The Parakletos is going to convict xtians of sin, because that makes no sense. Jesus said, when he comes, The Parakletos, another man like JESUS, he will with evidence convict the world regarding sin, why, Jesus explains it,because the world DID NOT BELIEVED IN JESUS TEACHINGS, and Jesus says it; of sin, because they did not believe in me.
