To anyone watching this: Read the Felix&Gotrek books, they are amazing. It's a perfect series for anyone new to the Warhammer universe, because you get to know a lot of factions, their society and their armies. The stories often kinda read like a D&D campaign, because Felix&Gotrek are accompanied by companions of various skillsets on their journeys.

I actually met them on my TK campaign yesterday, they must have fought someone else because when saw them their army was made only of both heroes, and like two wounded units I didn't even know who they were, I just saw some dwarf leading an almost dead army So I sent Settra to annihilate them just for the XP, and then I was surprised when he got a perk for killing them Anyway... Should I feel bad about-it, or glad he got the death he wished for?

To be honest Gotreks part is the only thing I liked about the end times. Then Age of Sigmar had to fuck it all up. I loved the idea that Gotreks destiny was to hold back the demonic hordes the same way as Grimnir had in ancient times. But yeah FUCK THE END TIMES AND FUCK AOS!

One mistake, Gotrek didn't take his oath until after he killed his Lord because the Lord wouldn't mount a gruge raid against those that had killed his family. The Lord ordered his guards to take him into custody so he couldn't rally others to his cause, and because Gortek refused to be taken prisoner, he laid about him with Grimar's Axe. There, with the blood of his own kin on his hands, he took his slayer oath in that very hall with the bodies of his kin surrounding him.

Gotrek's axe is one of the most powerful rune weapons of the dwarves in the beginning of times (when the most powerful runes and enchantments were known) so it seems pretty balanced that he is so op with such an op item in his possession. Not sure if his axe was one of the axes of grimnir. In the daemonslayer book, more info is told about the origin of his weapon

FUmarc the sword of Kaine, the slayer of kings , sigmars warhammer , the moon bow of alith anar , grimnirs twin axes. There are probably a lot more weapons. But when a weapon is powerful in warhammer fantasy it really does make them powerful. Heck even a few suits of armor can make the wearer invincible.

The first time I heard of Gotrek I wasn't moved. "Another one of _those_ dwarfs". But now, after hearing about the.. not even "legendary" reaches the amount of positivity that his stories reach. THERE ARE NO WORDS FOR IT! This man is not a force of nature, for nature bows to him. He is not legendary, because that only describes his dung. he isn't "badass", because badassery is something he practices in his sleep. He isn't even epic, because not even an epic character reaches Gotrek's level. Gotrek is beyond words. Beyond our understanding. Felix has killed dragons as well. his sword gives him powers against them. it's a lot like gotreks axe, only it actually takes power over felix. the scene where he kill the dragon with it for the first time is amazing. I'd highlight recommend the first 3 omnibus at least. I've not read beyond those.
