Thanks for posting. I’m a complete beginner and this series has been the perfect introduction. Very helpful!

This is definitely the best beginner gouache video I have seen so far that breaks down exactly what is needed for beginning this water-soluble medium. I feel more confident about understanding the medium after watching this informational video. Thanks for sharing & explaining gouache to us.

Thanks for posting this. Gouache was never mentioned in the 70s and I certainly never heard that it was the only medium that you can always reactivate! An illustrator friend sang its praises and now I am really intrigued since it seems so great to travel with if you have to travel light. (We didn't even have hairdryers or masking fluid when we attempted watercolours and had to reserve all our whites w/o them-no wonder it was darn frustrating!) And also, thanks for the recommendation about not using super expensive sable brushes-I usually splurge on any "tools" whether they are for the kitchen or for the workshop. Cheers, from Toronto. I love that porcelain pallette

I just bought a porcelain one since a plastic one cracked. The bonus was that it had more sections for large washes on the flip side that they didn't even advertise! You can always use a butchers enamel tray...and I have used a quiche dish too, since it isn't getting any use anymore.
