GOUACHE and SOFT PASTELS ? | Weird art combos #1

Hey guys! Here's a surprise early video!
I'm starting a series called weird art combos and trying out my soft pastels and combining them with gouache somehow.

I'd love to see you use more of the soft pastels, I've seen pastel artists use watercolor or inks with it maybe you could try that

This is such a great mixed media idea. I really want to try this.

One thing that I love to do is start with a charcoal sketch in sepia perhaps with a little black for darker emphasis, or edges, and then lock that in with a wash of just water. Then I have a fun, loose tonal sketch that I can paint over or keep exposed if I want. I’ve never tried it with pastels after watching this video I think I will try it!

really nice finished pose 😀 you can use makeup sponges or the cotton disc used for makeup removal if you have some to blend the pastels

i always just rubbed the pastels on the paper and smudged it with a finger or a cotton bud. really interesting to see how you use it

I have many things to suggest, but since your exploring I'll leave what I've encountered with the different media's well enough alone.
