I really enjoyed that, Shawn. I have been an artist for over 50 yrs. now, I do oils, w/c, mixed media, pastels and acrylics. But I only have the soft pastels ... so now I have to get some pastel pencils. Thanks and God Bless.

I’ve found another great use for the Liquitex gouache: magazine photo transfers on a gelli plate. I tried many kinds of paints, not all by any means, but that gouache worked best by far. Give it a try!

You said, "Acrylic gouache is permanent, regular gouache will reconstitute just like watercolor." Does that mean if you add water to the acrylic gouache it will not build up? Not clear on what you mean (sorry not a painter, just learning about different paints when I can). Great content. Thank you

Interesting demo. At first I thought you were talking about regular gouache, until you said acrylic gouache. Then it made sense. Sometimes you use the term gouache and sometimes acrylic gouache. Do you always mean acrylic gouache?

Traditional/artist/designer gouche are opaque watercolour. The acrylic matt gouache in this video is very different. Its basically acrylic that cannot be reactivated. Hope this clears up the confusion.

You know how some of the soft pastels have like a...."skin"? on them??? Amd you have to kind of rub it off on paper before you get to the yummy qualities of the pastel? Maybe the Caran D' Ache is the same way? Maybe try rubbing them on paper for a bit or sharpening them (even though they come out of the box sharp?)
