I prefer paint in tubes, as I can use the colors mixed into clay.
My go to watercolor is Schmincke, but I like M. Graham a lot as well.
I live in France, so Sennelier is easily available and I use it too.

I really resonate with you about the art trends. So one thing I am trying to do is just explore what I have. I stay away from Carandache Neocolors and even their Luminance, and use what color pencils and watersoluble crayons I already have. I have so much stuff to create with and the more I have the less I enjoy the process, so now I am trying to reverse that: create with what I have and enjoy it more.
