Another great clip. Good to see you getting the cod again. Enjoyed the camera work especially the casting into the timber and the way you lift the rod to get those blades started . Great stuff .

Good to have the cod god back chasing them. I've noticed you have such a unique grip on the reel handle, never seen anyone hold it like this. And i feel when i do it, it helps me slow down my retrive and hold better contact with the lure.

That’s really cool mate, very observant! Good contact is hugely important I reckon

Much appreciated mate. Sucks about the rod!! It does take the pain away a little if it’s because you’re landing a good one 🤣

Yeah, it was my own fault, went to hook a snagged lure with the rod tip, being lazy and not getting the lure retriever...

Watching from the USA. Are there crocodiles in that river system? Watching bass fishing videos and got recommended to Murray Cod fishing videos. Insane sizes!! Would love to one day hook up with one of these giants!!

Great to hear you’re watching from the USA! No crocodiles where the Murray cod live which is part of the appeal and they get really big too!

Hi lubin, what would be a good introduction baitcaster/swim bait rod. Had spin reels for awhile, I wanna broaden my horizon a little. Awesome video!
@Fish.adv7Ай бұрын
8 ft rods that hold about 8 to 15 kg should do you nicely with about a 80 to 90 pound leader with 70 pound line will be a good starter set up with the reel of your choice that can hold that line hope this helps. this may not be beginner friendly if your new to bait casters as the have a learning curve 😂 have a good one .
@Fishnshits-ausАй бұрын
I would personally go for a more yellow belly set up to learn with I like using the shamano slx 150 Combo they sell at bcf and anaconda It also depends on your budget and I wish you luck with your river adventure

Hey Lubin Just got a question with cod fishing I'm still pretty new to it I'm only just getting my first proper cod combo this Christmas I know you recommend 60 to 80 pounds braid with a similar leader But I'm just wondering If there's anything extra I would need thanks in advance
@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917Ай бұрын
Hey mate, depends on where you are fishing. If just you’re expecting fish up to a metre, I would be using 30lb but if there is a chance of whoppers I’ll always use 50lb

Wish there were more decent composite (even top glass) sticks available for moving baits - high modulus carbon absolutely not needed for this type of work.
