I planted the 5 goumi berry cuttings that I got from you a couple years back. I rooted them and they grew to about 18 inches...until our new puppy decided to uproot and chew up the plants in his few minutes unsupervised. I was brokenhearted because I put so much into getting them to grow. I have been unable to buy anymore but am growing all my veggies from seed and they are doing well so far. Hoping someday to be able to plant these goumi berries again. Thank you for all you do! Happy growing and God bless😊

My dog is generally well behaved in the garden but has a maniacal streak when it comes to chicago fig saplings! I have gone through 4 of them, All in pots. I hid them, they put them up high, I shielded them from view. It doesn’t matter what I do he rips those things out shreds them and drags their bits around the yard. I gave up….one day I will grow figs😢

I've been growing my food forest in the middle of literally a forest since 2007 but most seriously since 2015. Ut sustains us well throughout the winter season. In zone 7a we can still grow crops dirung the winter in low tunnels or greenhouses. We just need plenty of sun by stopping chemtrails over our states.

What an awesome plant, opportunity for sustenance for a family!! ….. But off topic when did we stop saying “picking” berries or lemons🍋etc.. and changing it to “harvesting” everything? For me the word “harvesting” kind of decreases the charm when describing the simpler or basic things in life. For instance when I’m thinking of or discussing my childhood memories of berry picking or like when cutting some fresh basil 🌿 from my “herb garden” which is actually just 🪴 in some strawberry pots on my back patio… For me…. I love thinking about and/or discussing my WONDERFUL joy filled memories of “picking” blueberries 🫐 & strawberries 🍓 with my grandmother as a little girl … I would never say “I love my wonderful memories of harvesting with my grandmother.” Maybe I’m just getting too old or something…I don’t know…. I saw a friend at a farmer’s market and she said she “was going to go home and harvest 4 lemons 🍋 to make some fresh lemonade”… Am I wrong or did it really sound a bit… pretentious?..,maybe??? 🤔 I get harvest is a word that can be perfectly appropriate but when i think of “harvesting” something it’s a big job for a professional grower or farmer to use that has become a somewhat popular amongst those of us who have a bit of a garden 🪴 to sound like we are in a special gardening club because we now know bigger words thus making us more “in the group” and or “special” …. and “more important”….. I don’t know just thinking 🤔 aloud 😂😂 and a bit of food for thought 😊 Great video!! Definitely 👍🏻 a thumbs up!!! From me and my husband 👍🏻👍🏻❤ Hope you ALL have a great day!!! 😄😄😄😄😄

@@chronos401 I see your point and agree… I started out as a RN, BSN and worked in Cardiovascular ICU (open heart) and then Neuro ICU for decades. Then I obtained several more upper degrees in medicine and have worked in Neuroscience Research for decades. As a Nurse a big part of your job is to be a patient advocate helping to facilitate the best possible care/treatment for your patients. You must be able to communicate from a Nursing perspective with Doctors and then communicate with patients and their families…often using very different verbiage for each. I wouldn’t say that a Nurse “dumbs down” explanations for a patient or family but “simplifies” information as appropriate. So …yeah I can see what you’re saying. It seems like our culture with social media like with Facebook went from a great way to communicate with many people at once to competition for “Best Parents”, “Best Kids”, “Best Vacations”, “Best Photos””Best Parties,” “Best House” and on and on to Twitter with people losing their humanity bare knuckle arguing over small disagreements seeming to make us a less tolerant society rather than a more tolerant one. Where you MUST share the same views with the loudest, meanest people or you are attacked in ways never before and dramatically increased rage of with the attacks and scathing words of criticism that most people would never say in person to a person and especially if everyone knew who everyone else really was…So people have developed this cruel critical speech that is fired off against anyone who doesn’t follow “their” current rules. It’s a total “mob mentality” (Twitter) vs “I’m the best in the world” (as presented on Facebook)… and amazing amounts of learning that we can tap into from the net filled with more information than anyone person could ever know so now we all must be “experts” on every topic imaginable….. like using a $10 dollar word when a $1 dollar word would do. Maybe to prop oneself up after a negative even possibly cruel response from an opinion given on line …pushing all people to be an “expert” in “ALL things.” … resulting in the need to use big words or “in” words…. I hope we as people can find ways to be honest with each other and still be kind to each other. I’m not sure what the next big thing will be but I hope it will help us all to be kind and truly tolerant with each other. Like a Hillary Clinton supporter could sit down with a Trump supporter for lunch…,frankly discussing issues and still walk away as real friends. Maybe it will be “the next big thing” that allows most people to come together and be kind… truly kind to each other. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰….Sorry for all the rambling but I really like your response!! 😄It definitely gave me something to think about!! Thank you and hope you have a great weekend!! 😊😄 My Hubby wants these berries…apparently the “hunt” will begin”tomorrow” if only finding the where and when we can grow them in our area!! 🤣😂🤣

I really wish every gardening video would put some basic info about location, like their growing zone at least, and soil ph or how much rain they get a year. I mean that's great that someone has so many berries or fruit but it doesn't mean diddly squat as far as reproducing the results if you don't know much about the conditions. 🤣 This plant may be low-maintenance wherever this is, but in some other area it could be very high maintenance 🥺
