His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS hosted the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministries, Pastor (Dr) W.F. Kumuyi, and his team today at the Executive Council Chambers of Government House, Port Harcourt. It was to synergize with the Church for peace and development of the State. The governor emphasized the need to always work with the Christian faith for the advancement of humanity.

The large majority of Rivers State inhabitants may be of the Christian faith but that doesn’t make it a Christian state as declared by Gov Fubara. It is unconstitutional to declare any religion as state religion. Pronouncements by highly placed leaders should always be weighed and to ensure that it’s in line with the constitution
