Enugu people have a hardworking governor like Peter Mbah and they are complaining. Just thank your stars that you don't have another version of Hope Uzodinma or Former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi coming back.

I swear, Peter Mbah is indeed a hard working governor. Only fools and empty headed lowlifes speak against him

Please ask that commisioner of works guy what the time line is for this project. What does he intend to accomplish when e.g.: 0- 3 months ? 4-6 months ? &- 12 Months ? This way he can be held to account before he abandons the whole thing. Also let him get his men out to mark Enugu roads and install traffic signs if he is serious about tourism and all that.

Your Excellency I just saw what Kigali looks like and it's awesome. If Enugu has to look like that, then high-rise buildings should be encouraged, trees and flowers planted at the middle of the roads, shanties and trading by the roadside should be banned as they make our city look dirty. Some roads should be expanded and others dualized. Modern streetlights should be fixed, the roads should be well marked and catchy artworks should be see in the Metropolis. Big LED TV, for advertisement should be around that Rangers Avenue roundabout and at Okpara Square too, and much more. These things will give Enugu a face-lift and enable her compare with Kigali and others.

I agree totally. But one thing with the present generation is failure to copy what is good and replicate same in our land. The beauty of Kigali is achieved simply by doing the things you outlined above, not very costly moneywise but still too difficult for us for inexplicable reasons especially road markings, street planting etc.

@user-zx9vk4ks6z Yes, you're right, my dear. I'm already tired of saying this all the time. The commissioner for environment in Enugu doesn't seem to know his job because if he does, there's no way there should be shanties and roadside trading. Go to Independence layout and some other places, shanties, and roadside trading everywhere. An eyesore I must say. Then he's not taking tree/flower planting seriously, especially in places they're needed to add more beauty to the city.

My brother, it really pains me to see some of the good things these so called leaders are failing to implement. The crazy thing is, a lot of these people have gone abroad and have seen what other places are like, but they don’t bring anything good back home with them. One thing that pains me the most is that they are still building roads with open gutter in Nigeria in 2024, and people are clapping for these guys. Mumu-ism!

All these moaners should STFU! Only a dishonest person with a political agenda will say nothing is happening in Enugu State. We all would like the pace of development to be faster and more extensive, but it’s not as if Enugu is a Lagos, Rivers or Akwa-Ibom that have more money at their disposal than the rest states. The state was in a dire financial situation a year ago when he took over, so we can start to criticise if we don’t start seeing projects and initiatives being realised after the next one year.

Loud it. Most people have forgotten that Enugu is not an oil producing state, and neither is she as rich as Lagos or Abuja. The state is trying her best with the allocation she gets and some other funds. The thing is you can't please everyone, because people must talk and complain. Just do your best best.

Peter Mbah is doing Well am from Enugu and i always know and come see what’s happening in my state, all he is accomplishing within this range of time he has been in power, the Past gov. Mummy Ugwuanyi, couldn’t do any significant thing in 8 years just playing around and attending parties, just a MF we put to govern us then!! Honestly I see another Sullivan Chime in Peter Mbah , God bless the both of them but all I beg of him is never to give Enugu state land out to Fulani 🐄 headers to settle there coz he will attract catastrophe on our people 😢….

Enugu is not a business area or state. That's not what enugu was built for. Just like abuja is not a business area, Enugu is not as well. It was once the capital of the Eastern region (biafra) so don't expect it to be as industrialised like lagos, anambara, and the rest. These states have what they're known for and Enugu isn't that state. That is why he is focusing more on tourism

@suntanglory Bro, I don't even know what the whole argument is about. The ICC Hotel is already in progress and whatever is said here is purely academic. Enugu is the capital city of Igboland and more such structures are needed. My only regret is that it is not built as a sky scrapper which Enugu is currently lacking. Gov Mbah is on the right track with his team. *BTW talking of fibre optics and internet access, those building roads and laying water pipes might as well add fibre optic cables now to avoid digging up the roads in future.

Igbos and international conference centers! How many times are conferences held in a year even in advanced economies? You cannot run until you have learned to walk properly.

Government building hotels and conference centers.😅Only in Nigeria! Instead of building world class city and infrastructures that would attract 5 star hotel these lot are trying to run without walking.Why would anyone come to enugu?What are they coming to see before talking of 5 star hotel? Build your city like kigali first,like cape town first and 5 star hotel will be begging to locate in the city.
@user-zx9vk4ks6z
@user-zx9vk4ks6z 2 ай бұрын
Why can't he do both? Are "building world class city and infrastructures" and what Gov. Mbah is doing mutually exclusive. Please try to be constructive in your criticisms. What did you do when Ugwuanyi sat there for 8 long years and did nothing except display his fat face in dozens of bill boards across the city? And before you start, i don't know this Mba guy and never met him.

@@user-zx9vk4ks6z before you start I am not even from enugu.There are priorities in life,thankfully the governor mentioned city like kigali.But kigali did not build conference centers and hotels,they built probably the cleanest city in Africa first,they built probably the most beautiful city in Africa first,they built world class roads,fiber internet across the city,ease of doing business first and watch the rest take shape.And watch people like governor mbah come in and enjoy that,which then called for hotels and conference centers.Not the other way round,if at all.
@preciouschukwuemeka74
@preciouschukwuemeka74 2 ай бұрын
I understand everything you mean, and it's ok , but you got it wrong by saying, "Why would anyone come to Enugu?" That was degrading and totally uncalled for. People come to Enugu, and just like every other city, Enugu is evolving. Rome wasn't built in a day. With the right set of leaders, like our current governor and others to come, Enugu will definitely take shape. It's all about having quality leaders who know what they're doing.
@suntanglory
@suntanglory 2 ай бұрын
@@preciouschukwuemeka74 Oh sorry,l did not mean it that way. l meant the governor has to give people reasons to want to come to enugu first before thinking of conference center.Which a cleaner and beautiful looking city/environment,a world class road infrastrictutures,internet etc can do.Tthat would then necissitate the need for 5 star hotels and others.
@user-zx9vk4ks6z
@user-zx9vk4ks6z 2 ай бұрын
@@suntanglory First, the present governor did not start the building of a conference centre, he is merely completing a project which someone else started, sunk a large amount of state fund into and abandoned until he decided to complete it. So are you saying that he should have left the place abandoned or what? I still do not see how completing an an abandoned conference centre or a building a hotel conflicts with building a clean city with fibre optics, internet access and ease of doing business. My friend, there is no linear pathway to building a good city. So Kudos to Kigali for its achievements but the Kigali pathway is not the only viable option out there as Mr Mbah has clearly set out to demonstrate.

Hotels are an industry. If he completes this project, many will be employed in the conference centre and in the hotels and coffee shops as waiters, stewards, barmen, tour guides, shop owners etc. Many villagers will sell farm products, art and crafts etc. Taxi drivers will have more passengers, handymen like plumbers, electricians, hair dressers etc. will be employed etc. etc. Dont forget how the upgrading of Enugu Airport kick-started the real estate sector in the city.

Speaking English (aka ogonogo oyibo or gobbledegook or dogon turunchi) does not equate to good governance. If it did, Soludo would have transformed Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka by now. Gov Mbah and his team are doing well. Do not distract them. Opposition is also an integral part of government in a democracy So please leave Edeoga alone to do his job. Nobody knows everything.
