I was at Govt Mule's very first gig here in downtown Macon, Ga. in '94!! Warren put Matt Apts on percussion with Brother, the Late, Allen Woody on Bass to form the best Power Rock Trio since Cream!!! Haynes is one of the best men I have ever met! He plays with such Soulfulness and depth no one can deny the man's genius in music and his great capacity for songwriting!! This is an awesome concert and would serve well to be on store shelves!!! Thank you for sharing this superb showcase of GMule's Talent!!!!

Born out of The Allman Brothers Band, Warren Haynes and Allen Woody(RIP) got this band started much like Hot Tuna was born out of Jefferson Airplane. Warren is a much sought after blues & bluesrock guitar hero and vocalist. Frequently seen with the likes of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeshci but an outstanding player in his own right. Let your "Soulshine", Govt. Mule.

Reportedly the idea for the band started when Woody & Warren were listening to a bunch of power trio rock and Woody said "You know we could do that if found the right drummer" They sure did.

And I saw them when they were a 3 piece, long time ago, I don't think the first album was out yet. It was in an outdoor park in Danbury CT, and I don't think there were even 30 people in the audience, we camped out right in front of them, reach out and touch distance. What an amazing experience.

Clapton is not bad anyway but overestimated by the typically lazy society. Look most of us die after their age of 25-30 and being able to only repeat themselves.

enturarj I personally always thought Clapton's greatness was in his song writing abilities. Sure, he's a badass blues player, but not a stand out necessarily. BUT, when it comes to music and song writing, the dude was on another level. Sure, Robin Trower can out shred him, but Trower never wrote Layla. Or Tears in Heaven. Or Sunshine of Your Love. Or Wonderful Tonight. Those songs are brilliant and timeless.
