Warren is the perfect example of putting a guitar in the right hands! Watch him on " Banks of the deep end" , he switches from finger picking to a pick and if you didn't see it, you would never know! He is one of the best blues guitarists! Very unique sound he made it all his own. Had the opportunity to meet the man, so humble for a musician of his caliber. Gov't Mule, simply awesome!!

A lot of people don’t notice that. He’s always almost flawless
@jonhamilton89712 жыл бұрын
That man not only knows how to leave you numb,but he has the ability to not "ego",ride the game! He's seamless in the way he showcases not only his own band by giving a slot for they're talent,and share that limelight,but if you've ever seen him on spotlights by other bands as a guest, he has the same ability! It's not only being a legend,but it's the generously he give all fellow musicians that makes him a notch above peers,and admired for that ability to bring out the best of anyone he's preforming with!
@JeffSchreiber99 Жыл бұрын
@Jon Hamilton - Couldn’t agree any more. I was just telling a friend how so many musical icons I used to revere no longer shine like they once did. With all that talent, they seem to lack Warren’s humility, fortitude or gratitude for those who paved the road to their stardom. At his shows, he’s known for bringing out old long forgotten blues/jazz players to join in and remind us all that there’s many diamonds lying in the rust and they are worth appreciating. While Jerry Garcia was a big influence, I feel that Warren is an example of what could have been if he hadn’t fallen so early on for the demons that seem to haunt so many who pursue fame.

I've seen him NAIL DOWN jerry garcia role in " the dead tour 2012) he can pick just like him. Soooo, I always wondered why they went with mayer??? All those songs were written by top notch poets... I don't think mayer understands the meaning behind the lyrics of songs. So when I saw warren in place... Wow, they went backwards. C'mon Warren! I really like it when Warren throws in melodies from other songs in his leads. In this set I heard an old Donovan melody from "First There Is A Mountain." When I saw them last year here in MPLS, he threw in the opening theme from Earth Wind And Fire's "Get Away." I'm a bass player and love it when bands play with the songs adding a new twist. The players in this band are up there with the best around. This is a band where it's not enough to just be good ... these guys all bring something extra that can't be taught.

Warren is one of the greats. All time guitarist, singer and songwriter. But as bedroom drummer myself, Matt Abts is my unobtainable benchmark. He has so much chops - and like all greats it's as much about what he leaves out, not what he includes. He is the perfect compliment to Warren. He has that rare skill of musicality on the drums (Neil Peart, Bonham, Danny Carey, Stewart Copeland) and his playing has a discipline to it that ensures he never "overplays" the part. I was lucky enough to see them live a few times back when I was working in the USA. My ears are still ringing 🤘🏻
