For those not around in the 70;s, Mick Jagger wrote this about David Bowie's wife Angie. Then he traded Bowie his wife Bianca for Angie and they all went to 54 together to snort and make the scene. Life was so different pre HIV and Moral Majority!

way better than the original. this man CAN actually sing and play the guitar.

Sounds like a decent cover. But it's only that. I get if you're a fan of Government Mule, or any band, the band in question will sound to you like the greatest thing since sliced bread even if they cover Baa Baa Black Sheep. The Stones' original is sung by the guy who WROTE it, and who KNOWS who Angie is, and it's real life to him...and most importantly, it *sounds* like real life to Mick. And you can't replicate that extra layer of authenticity just by playing the right chords and singing the right words in a cover version.

ah yeah you're right, jorgen was there but not on this song. id start looking out at who played on that day but i've already ruled out the bass players from the big bands there that weekend (i think?). setlist.fm lists cody and luther on the song before (guess i don't really remember that) but its obviously neither of them, just says 'rolling stones cover' for angie. shoot warren an email, or maybe radio woodstock might have some insight

I have much respect for Warren and the Mule, especially his guitar work, but he couldn't match the raw emotion that this song is supposed to have; that you can feel in the original. I don't believe anyone else can re create that.
@guitarlessons2056 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment I agree with you no disrespect to Warren or anybody who's trying to cover this song but the stones Mick Jagger's voice on this yeah man I agree it would take something damn special to top that original
