Marshall Tucker came out with this in 1973. This song is 44 years old and still destroys most music today. Quality never goes out of style.

+madcapper6 - Agree 100%! I miss the original Marshall Tucker Band with Caldwell Brothers (RIP and thanks!) Loved having them opening for The Grateful Dead at the Meadowlands and Englishtown awhaile back! This is my favorite MTB tune of all and they nailed it for sure! I think Warren Haynes is presently "THE BEST" guitar player and song writer along with his versatility doing cover songs of the best bands from the 1960's to 1980's! The Man has so much energy going on especially in the last 20 years playing in his and Woody's Gov't Mule. Also, The ABB, The Warren Haynes Band with presently the best tenor saz player around, Ron Holloway! Throw in the touring years with The Dead, The Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration shows with Warren playing Jerry's guitar "Wolf" & with the Boston Pops Orchestra Shows, and currently Warren Haynes and The Ashes & Dust Band touring! Amazingly talented and energized man who I hope has a very long life giving all of us such Great Music!

My younger brother was known for crankin' the MTB version loud in his 63 C10 with a 400SBC and he left a lot of rubber around town. When I hear this I remember those days and him. He decided not to treat his cancer when he was 46 and has moved on to wherever he is supposed to go. His spirit is with me. His best friend and I went to see Marshall Tucker back in 2012 in New Mexico just to keep it all alive. I think the world of Warren Haynes. I would love to see him while he is still crushing it. Can't ya see.

Me too - since 1970 when I heard Skynyrd for the first time on the BBC. I'm English from the back woods so it has been hard for years trying to find this music I love, but thanks to You Tube, it's bliss now and I have discovered so much more excellent music.Loved Greg Allman to distraction, of course, for all this time. Thanks to the BBC for flying the flag for years.

Rita Price Funnily enough I could say the same to you. Echoes of the music of English north east can be heard in southern rock from aeons ago. Listen to Mark Knopfler e.g. from "Private Investigations" and you may hear the echoes. Trendy Londoners mock the north and is traditions rather like it seems to me, that Yankees mock the south. Thanks for your message to me. I am very grateful for your taking the trouble.

@@torfrida6663 Do you think it comes from the Scottish influence in the North of England as the South here was heavily settled by Scottish Irish. My maiden name of Elliott is/was one of the Scottish border clans.

@@torfrida6663 Yes Yankees mocked Southerners considering us backwards in thinking and lifestyle. However we now have them moving down here in droves for the simple lifestyle, cost of living, etc.
