Your phone need to be on the 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi band of your router to connect your lights to the router’s 2.4GHz band. It’s there. You just don’t know it. Every router has a 2.4GHz band that is a separate Wi-Fi network on your router. Probably the same password as your 5GHz band. All smart lights and other smart home gadgets use the older band because it reaches out much farther than the newer faster 5GHz band. You only need to get your phone on that band once for the setup and you can go back to your 5GHz band.

This makes sense! I did see that when I was googling around, but apparently don't know the password for the older band anymore... it wasn't the same unfortunately! Thankfully, it seemed to either work with the 5GHz OR just autoconnect even though it told me it wasn't? *shrug*

No chance unless your phone got on the 2.4GHz and you manually went to the settings for the Glide and set up Wi-Fi. It’s running on Bluetooth. So you can walk out if range to test it. Or turn off Bluetooth on the phone and try to control the Glide.

I’m confused… I bought what I thought was the same set as you with 4 corners, only when I connect all 8 straight sections, only 9 of the sections light up… am I doing something wrong?

Are you sure they're all connected correctly? Could it be a faulty piece?
